Make Leona able to proc her own passive

So I've been thinking, after watching Dyrus stream Leona top, about how much better Leona would be if she could proc her own passive. She is pretty weak as a support atm, simply because too many things outclass her. Want strong engage? Just go , , or even . Want a tanky support to soak damage up and serve the front line? Just go , , , or . Want a strong catch out support? Just go , , , or .

There are more examples of how she gets outclassed, but the point is there. She just gets outclassed by a lot of other supports, and not even because she is weak. It's just because she is too unreliable with her kit. She goes in, and either gets her adc a double at level 2/3, or dies easily and is useless for most of the game . And she has little in the way of keeping her adc safe, as her kit is designed to just engage. (don't quote me on that, I'm not a support main, and barely play Leona. Just going by what I know).

I mean, Riot could just buff her, to make her viable again, but that probably would just make her completely oppressive in lane. So, why not just give her options. If she could proc her own passive, top lane and jungle Leona could be much more viable. She could be played like top lane or jungle . She could be pretty viable as a cc fighter, and could set up pretty decent ganks in jungle. Being able to proc her passive in lane could make her viable again. And if it is too strong, it can be made to only proc on her basic attacks, or have a cd like sheen or something.

Maybe it wouldn't do too much, but she would be a lot more present then she is now. And who hasn't had some fun playing ad Leona top before?
