A thought on what to do with ADCs.

Hi there. This discussion is not meant as a final statement. This is just a thought I had and it can probably be challenged in many ways. But still, here's what I think Riot should do with ADCs.

1 - No more damage buffs. Damage is fine. No matter what, ADCs will remains the highest DPS class lategame. If anything, I'd lower their DPS even more lategame but give them a more steady access to power throughout the whole game.

2 - Defense buffs. Especially early game personnal defense buffs. ADCs are the only one that rely so much on a support to keep them safe. Their safety should come from their own gameplay and ability to kite and stay at distance, not from shields or heals from another player.

3 - A change to how crit works. Part of ADCs issue is the gamble for crits. Crit should work pretty much the same way they already do for Ashe, meaning that they should increase basic attack's damage by a percentage. This would prevent any lucky crit rolls, any unlucky crit rolls and weird situations where you either have no dps or a huge burst coming from nowhere. It would also allow Riot Games to more properly act upon crit values as it would reduce variance in the results.

If I had to summarize, give ADCs a slighly lesser DPS, a moderately higher base defense, and healthy tools to keep ennemies at distance (as opposed to bruiser's ability to close that distance). It could even open mid and toplane to most ADCs without making them oppressive there.

how about no buffs at all, and instead remove turret first blood and generally decrease snowballing mechanics, so games last longer than 20 minutes again?

one step at a time.

we can assess how strong crit marksmen truly are, when they have enough time to scale again. something that they should have done last time, before they went overboard with the crit buffs.
