She's been one of the hardest late-game carries for a long time. I personally hate to fight her, because it feels like no matter what happens, she always wins, especially after scaling so hard. It's infuriating to lose winnable games, especially when one character just finished their third item.
She's being picked every game in pro along with Xayah.
But Riot plays favorites and doesnt nerf them.
Her Q seems weird to me really, its isolated damage is nuts.
Her skins bring in the big bucks so she'll probably always be at least somewhat viable

Hyper carry that isnt as hard as people think. I played her for the first time in a good while and went 24/6. Got 2 Quadras. All you have to do is survive the early game and boom, you're strong enough to melt almost anyone.
Skins sales must still be going strong.

The reason you see Kai'sa so much is because early game adc's are basically guttered rn due to various changes. Logically champs like Ciat, Jhin, Draven, Kalista, and MF should be picked more to counter a champ like Kai'sa who is super item dependent and can be bullied out of lane. The problem is that these champs simply aren't viable, and even with an aggressive support like Pyke being strong, there is still not enough benefit for going early game. But Riot doesn't get this either, which is why Aatrox got gutted instead of having actual counters being viable picks. The fact that Ashe is now such a strong adc is indicative of the fact that the field is now just thinned down to who sucks the least. When utility and safety adc's are the top picks(Ashe, Xayah, Kai'sa, Sivir) that means that early game and true hypercarry adc's simply don't have the benefits that make them worth playing. If all adc's have to suck the same when it comes to carrying why not play the ones who give the most versatility and utility? That's why these are the top champs. Just like how champs like Karma and Aatrox and GP are just safer picks that, if the meta was good, would have actual counters to punish them for their safety. It's the fact that the field has been, and continues to be culled that is causing these problems for nearly every role. Adc's aren't even the ones who have gotten hit the hardest in this regard, as the jungle meta is a total mess and has been for a long time(Sejuani should never have been such a dominant pick for so long despite being so weak. no one could really punish her and that's why she stuck around).
This hate boner for Kai'sa is honestly a little ridiculous. The champion isn't problematic. She's weak where she needs to be and strong when she's supposed to be. She does well in Worlds but common soloqueue is not Worlds. In soloqueue, she's getting assfucked by the plethora of other ADCs who are far stronger along with a lot of other low range, late game carries(Kog, Trist to name two specifically). Her pick rate is high but that 100% is more inline with the idea that she is just fun to play. A high pick rate and a sub 50% WR just shows people enjoy playing her even if she's bad. She's like Ezreal, who literally has the lowest winrate but also has a huge pick rate. It flat out does not matter how much she is nerfed. She will still be played because she is enjoyable to play. She has satisfying gameplay.
But continue to hating on a champion who is bottom of the barrel strong because you lost to one in your game.
Meanwhile, Jinx has been strong since the start of the season; no one whines about her AoE critting you from 700 range starting at level 9. Or Ashe who is literally the second highest winrate champion in the game. That's not even just bot lane. That's in the game as a whole.
I don't even play Kai'sa. I'm just tired of people whining about a none problematic champion.
