a way to solve the 3rd party bot problems in games

in champion select screen add a number a buttons at some part of the screen with 0-9, a number of at least 4 digits random up the matching number and display it on screen have player select button with mouse the number matching the buttons

this is to acknowledge the player as human, a bot would not be able to input this unless the cheater is sitting at their computer trolling like a scumbag this security is on pokerstars the stop hackers, it is so simple and it works of course riot will not even see this so I am probably wasting my time but anyway.....

I also meant to put random the positions of the numbers on screen too maybe a bot can read the numbers, but to replicate clicking on random positions with a random number may be a solve for getting rid of bots if there is no better solution something should be chosen

the legit players who want to play against bots?? how can u not see the bots are destroying this game in 3v3, aram

maybe u bot too seems u defending them a small inconvenience to solve a huge problem

hi, ive made bots for diablo 2 before. used both d2jsp and d2nt for scripting them, and this would not really solve anything. we can easily make bots recognize numbers unless the numbers are captcha style codes, but those are very annoying to deal with, and while i dont have a solution for them google has developed a bot that does read captcha as well, so its a matter of time before someone else will have one.

its worth mentioning that once you are injected into the game, the bot can see everything. and its really hard to hide something from it.

You can embed the captcha via webservice, and validate the answer server side.

Numbers are easy to recognize, pictures not so easy. just 5 pictures and "click on fiora", would dismantle basically any bot. Specially if you change the captchas pictures every week. Plus it would be more user friendly than typing the numbers.

but captchas are super annoying, and this wont stop people from botting anyway. this would just get people to remote control from their phone into their laptop to click fiora when they get a notification from the bot that it needs help

or at least thats what id do if i was a boter.

i dont bot in league though.

How many times have you been 0/9/0?. I havent been so low very often, tbh, so I wouldnt have seen this captcha at least for months.

Give access to your phone to a guy that sells bots and install his app too on it. What could go wrong?

Having to answer a capthcha every 30 mins, would make people not to bot, no doubt. Nobody pays to fill in captchas. Plus, most people bot while in the school/work/sleeping. Not to talk about the people leveling accounts in order to sell them, and have hundreds of bots, they are not going to spend their precious time filling up chapchas 24x7.

Tbh, they could outsource the captchas filling XD but if you make the captcha to appear every death from 0/10 on... that would not be possible even to outsource it.

im bronze, pretty fkin often actually.
im not giving access to a guy with a bot. im the guy with the bot and thats what id do to avoid the issues. this is what i would do in diablo when my bot got full inventory, which wasnt every 30 minutes, but definitely every hour or 2.
i really hate captchas though. like i hate it with a passion. id rather let innocent baby kittens die than have to deal with a single captcha. so the captcha idea is not something i would ever advertise. especially seeing how captcha has been cracked by google already and its now a matter of time before everyone else will of figured it out.

the reason bots exist is that the league accounts are not tied to any real item at all. tie them to a bank card and all of a sudden you cant sell and trade or get banned on your accounts anymore.

I'm bronze too (silver 5 in this account last season, but I've been bronze longtime, and I'm bronze in my other account), no, in bronze it is not so common to go 0/9/0. It's more comon like 3/14/2, and that wouldnt fire a captcha.
If the people botting are only the people who can write his own bot, then the problem is solved. Plus, the main problem are the people botting to sell accounts, that have, literally, hundreds of them. This would destroy totally those botters.
What google cracked, if i'm not wrong, are the captchas based on numbers, not on pictures. Because you cant train your AI to recognize every item in the world.

Plus, I dont like captchas, but I dislike MUCH MORE playing a game and finding a bot in it.

Yes, you would have done it in diablo 2, every 2 hours. Good luck farming while sleeping, or at work (likely, pretty much this is what you used your bot for). Plus, you didnt risk your account for being banned if you dont empty your inventory every 2 hours. Hence, your bot would become useless. Yes, you can bot while watching a movie, but nobody invests his time coding a bot just for that, and even if you do, people would not pay for that.

Yeah captchas and similar aren't impervious to bots, they're just complicated enough to deter casual ultra simplistic bots/scripts.

I'm pretty sure most bots that actually play league (as opposed to the run down lane until nexus is destroyed) are significantly more advanced than what is required to figure out captchas (unless the cpatchas are hard enough that even humans have a problem, at which point you're going to be locking out human players too).

on pokerstars I have been hacked in the past, I have this security step on there and my account has never been compromised since

until the developers of these nasty bot programs update there bot, all the people who are just users will be put off, maybe riot could rotate different securities, whatever they be, but no, they do nothing

at least I'm having a discussion on this board, thank you guys for noticing

The new captchas like "click the pictures with a (shop/car/flower/... whatever) in it" are not so easily broken by bots. They are nearly impossible to break by a bot.

Riot gives 0 fucks about bots. They have told us a thousand times, since they are only in low low low elo, they dont consider that they impact the game enough to care about them. They will do what they have been doing for many years... nothing.

The amount of bots while leveling, though, is plain disgusting. I was about to uninstall the game while leveling my first account because of that, I said to myself "what a shitty game, there are no humans playing this shit"

no we are not, your idea is garbage and is just going to add more frustration and annoyance to people who are actually playing the game. It's one thing to have this sort of thing as a log in type of thing but as something you have to do every single game? that will get old really fast and in the end won't do anything to stop the bots other than the super simplistic ones. People already forget to lock in champions or ban stuff in ranked games and you expect them to have to deal with this? that's not happening ever sorry to tell you

his idea wouldnt work. a competent bot dev can have the bot recognizing numbers in seconds.

here is a solution, in order to be able to get higher than level 20 you have to provide a valid bank card, riot does not save your bank number however they do take the last 8 of the bank card, your full name, and exp date and create a unique profile based on that, when you get banned your profile gets banned so you can never use that bank card to get past 20 again.

getting a new bank account is a lot harder than making a new league account.

here is another solution, mandatory 15$ purchase at level 20 in order to be able to get to 30.you can buy rp for 15 and use it for skins or whatever you want, but you have to spend 15. this would push account value up and drive bot farmers out of business since a league account price would jump 50% in value.

but these will never happen. the community as a whole does not want permabans to mean forever. so a majority hate the idea because it means a flamer only gets 1 account as opposed to 20 like they do now.

To be honest in my last test in college I basicly had to make a program (aka bot) which was able to take something like the picture of a text and write it to a .txt file. This idea of your would probably worked really nicely a few years ago, but today this isn't the hardest thing to do and even someone who SUCKS at coding can pull it off. If I did any braindamaged 2 fingered 12 years old can. ~~Yes, that's how bad I am at coding~~

My 12 year olds are currently busy solving important issues. Like feeding the homeless, making sure the nike shoes are properly made, and recycling.

There might be some room for extra activities once they turn 13 and are too old to do some odd jobs for the local priests.
