Is Singed Useless?

Ive been hearing that singed is useless. Thoughts? Is it just the toxic people I run into or did something go wrong with Singed down the line. He seemed to be one of the few true tanks to me, and he can hold himself just fine top. Plus if anyone needs to split push...

Singed is actually fairly balanced if a little weak due to no tenacity on ult.

He suffers though without a gap closer in this mobility meta

Many people have the idea that if a champion is not being spammed competitively or in solo queue that champion is useless/trash tier. Much of the time they are underestimating the strengths of that champion and overplaying his weaknesses. Singed is still fairly decent if you know how to play him.

He's not useless by any means but the current meta leaves him in a bad spot.

Meh. Janna being popular really really hurts Singed's viability, Nami and Thresh both have room to outplay their CC later in the game but point and click slows > knockups/knockbacks really make it impossible for Singed to be effective. He pushes and pressures the map very well but kills towers so damn slowly.

Singed is an entirely skill based champ, in the right hands he can easily carry a game (see attached), but he is very, VERY, easy to do terribly with and just feed the enemy team nonstop.

Singed is good in certain situations, particularly when the enemy team has little disengage/low amounts of CC. He can struggle against certain lane bullies, since he is more focused towards late game with his passive scaling, but when he gets there he becomes one of the most absolutely aggravating tanks to deal with due to his decent damage and good split pushing. He is a little slow at actually killing towers, but he usually can scale decently into late game for team fights since he farms SOOO WELL. He has good utility through his large AOE slow and his fling to throw an ADC out of position, and his constant AOE poison damage deals surprising amounts of damage to enemies who stand in it (especially if you build Rylai's+Liandry's for the bonus burn damage). He is slightly better than he has been since he fits the current late game meta that is popular right now, and the other late game tanky/fighter tops like Maokai, Mundo, and Ryze are almost incapable of dealing with a singed who proxy farms behind turret, and scale only about as well as singed, excluding the farm deprivation he causes them.

I can't speak for the Rift players but in ARAM he is extremely powerful. He has two major qualities that make me wish he would get a rework. One is if he builds Rod of Ages and one or two tank items he becomes nigh unkillable and can out tank a Galio or Malphite with Banshees, Randuins and all the other heavy hp/armor/MR items. He also ends up doing more damage because of the ap from RoA, Liandry and Rylai. Singed is just innately tanky more than almost any other champ in the game making him survive 3v1's without breaking a sweat. The second thing I hate about Singed is that his kit is invulnerable against 1/2 the champion pool in 1v1 (particularly on ARAM) His slow, high movement speed, constant poison dmg which scales very well against any adc/mage/assasin/brawler, the throw to keep you in the poison/do heavy damage, and his extreme tankiness lets him chase characters like Brand indefinately while taking almost no damage. He's a nightmare to play against because there is no hope for escape unless your own champ has a combination of two of the folowing. Higher move speed, good disengage abilities, and a lot of cc.

TLDR - I play ARAM so disregard my post Rift players.
