Matchmaking's kinda broken

TLDR: I got placed with substantially worse players after losing 2 games.

When I first started this season I was Bronze 4 cuz I hadn't played for a long time and I was Bronze last season. But a week after i had been placed a started the long and hard climb and managed to drag myself up to Bronze 2. I thought it was all going pretty well however I got stuck at around 20-40 lp and lost 2 games in a row. Suddenly (not pointing fingers) I started getting placed with bad players. I understand my MMR had dropped quite a bit and I was pretty on tilt but some of these players were truly awful. They chose bad picks or played champions which they hadn't played before and before you knew it I was right back down to Bronze 4 with 50lp wondering if I'll ever get out of Bronze. I do understand I've been losing a lot causing my MMR to plummet and that I've gone 0/4/0 (mordekaiser) but I've also gone 21/10/3 ( akali) and 18/11/11 (gangplank) where I was doing really well and the only reason I lost was because of my teammates. That all aside what I really want to know is why I suddenly got placed with players far worse than the ones I was playing with just 2 games before.

I think its more luck of the draw than anything. Winning more does increase your mmr and forces you to play with higher mmr players but in the end it should not be that much different. And losing 2 games shouldn't drop your mmr that much. If it was like 6-8 in a row then yea your mmr is to be impacted but 2 shouldn't change it that much. In reality I think you are just playing with average bronze teammates and need to learn to win those games regardless of how bad your teammates are. You are obviously not going to win every game, but you should be able to win enough to rank up back to you were or higher if that is where your actual skill level is.

Playing while tilted is always a bad idea. I have tested this for myself over the last few seasons and can say one of the biggest things I have learned in trying to climb is don't play when you are in a bad mood/titled. You are going to play worse and decrease your chance of winning and leads to longer losing streaks.

Noticed this recently but in a different situation and at a much higher rank.

A few days ago I went on an 18 game win streak while ranking up my smurf (this account), EVERY SINGLE GAME SINCE THEN I seem to have been matched with extremely bad team mates that I simply can't do anything to carry. Now obviously I still have my fuckups and I have cost myself a couple games but I generally have noticed that my team mates seem to be all people around d4-d5 with either really low mmr or on really bad loss streaks, even encountered a few players that were eloboosted and had lost a crazy amount of times in a row (due to their own fault, not having bad games or bad teammates)

Since that very large win streak, I have struggled to be able to keep a 50% winrate (pretty sure the games after that winstreak I hold below 50% winrate)

My winrate has shot down from 73% out of just under 100 games to under 60% in over 100.

You may say "You've reached your skill level with all that lp gain and division skipping!" and to that I will say, no I certainly haven't because this is one of my smurf accounts, over a full tier below my actual rank where I maintain a 52.6~% winrate.

I've even been demoted to p3 on this account from losing so often, and I can't solo carry if my team isn't slightly competent as I am an adc player.

It seems that the system is either going out of its way to try to get this account to a 50% winrate, or I am a crazy level of unlucky.

It's RIOT and their ignorant person who made the matchmaking algorithm that tries to keep people at .500 win rate. You will continue to get below your skill level team mates until you lose a ton. Welcome to the stupidest matchmaking system in the history of gaming.

match makeing will put it so that both teams are roughly even. even if they are a lower rank than you though bronze 2 isnt far from bronze or 5 at all especially when bronze 1s get matched with gold 3s (only one of those on either team in each game) like that thats just how far the matchmakeing streaches bronze 5 is likely to be in your games until at least sliver 2. you were in bronze 4 and climbed why cant you give other players the benifit of the doubt that they are trying just like you did who were in the exact divison you were in. if you are getting worse teammates you are also getting worse enemies (useing rank to judge like you are)

Earlier this season I was so happy I flew to S3 on a 60%+ win rate and knew I'd get gold.

Then my teammates became bronzes and my opposition became S2 and higher. It didn't let up the abuse until my stupid ass was B5 again (I tried to force a lot of taliyah during this time as well, was ill advised).

I now try to play a nice variety of champions rather than my best mains in order to prevent my better win streaks from brutally fucking me over. My most recent 12 game streak saw me having to more aggressively become a better leader to my teammates and shot call well but damn I'm reaping what I've sown now and it kinda sucks on days I don't want to be my teams vocal leader.

Anyways my anecdotal experience is if you start winning a lot the game thinks you're having a huge impact on your games and starts giving you people that need help (which isn't that bad), which then eventually leads to it giving you people that are not where they belong vs complete studs it's just throwing a free win at to be nice.

I've also been on the other side, lost a few games in a row then suddenly got fed the stupidest easiest win known to mankind but overall I hate how streaky my damn record has become and honestly dread my teammates come 5 wins in a row.

The other thing that's making my attempt at gold difficult this year is the fact that completely new ass players are placed in silver. That's a problem.
