Why should anybody lose / win LP for a game when one or more players is afk?

So tell me why, I should lose LP and others should win LP when a player afks? I thought ranked was a test of skill, not who's unlucky enough to get an afk on their team. This happens every third game, and it's not going to go away...you guys need to heavily increase the punishments for afk in ranked, or else climbing in bronze/silver will be stupid hard..

Don't you love it when you have a perfect game on league where you never know who is going to win, but after 60 minutes and perfect execution of teamwork and planned out fights you finally manage to overcome the enemy and beat them? You gain that sweet lp that you need to climb..

and then next game your akali top afks and you lose it on 20:07

What if someone disconnects right at the end of the match? The winning team gets nothing for their effort.

It also doesn't make sense that someone will be able to save their entire team from losing anything if they just disconnect.

Yes, it often isn't fair for 4 people to vs 5 - that's why the /remake option and all the afk bans exist. Cancelling the results of a match entirely just because a person disconnected at some point in the game isn't the solution.
