Thats carrying not boosting. Boosting is if that guy played on your account to raise your rank. Until the day riot makes solo que solo que there will be carrying.
Bossting on the other hand riot actively combats.

The difference is actually major using ur example u can boost that bronze player to diamond. Eventually you wont be able to carry more than they fed probably around the high gold low plat level. Now theyd still be at a higher level than they should but its still different because it carrying you have to compensate for there lack of skill. Riot allows carrying but not boosting.

end of the season it was masters could duo, challengers could not i think. So right before the season ended alot of pros duoed right after the challenger reset ( every 24 hours) and then duoed all day to get back into challenger before season ended. Pretty sure Keith did this along with some other people.

Well idk what to tell you about differences in equipment. Thats just gaming in general.
Cutting out duo would definately fix your original complaint of carrying though.
