Galio is a Mystery.
Alright so. I didn't play league, when Galio was first brought in. However from watching his first Spotlight as it says in the beginning, Galio was created as "A Tank with a few splashes of Burst Magic Damage and Support" However, by the time I got into the game, mainly around the Harrowing of 2015, Galio had transitioned into a more Magey type of build, unless a team needed a tank and AP, which someone, or myself, played him.
Then comes his rework, and multiple times it is mentioned that Riot wanted him to be balanced as a Warden, a defensive tank who protects his allies with his abilities. However, he had not only a load of damage in his kit, he also had knock ups galore, while also being incredibly tanky due to his damage reduction, even though it had been nerfed back on the PBE. Then we get to a couple weeks ago, and Riot's pushed out a Galio change, one to make him more aggressive in his builds however as we saw plenty of times this allowed Galio to practically one shot any thing he wished, thus Riot had to nerf him. Now, hes got a buff on the PBE which makes his W, his taunt and Damage Reduction, do damage. I'm honestly confused on what they want in Galio. Do they want an Engage based Tank with some AP? Do they want a Mage whose a bit tanky? Do they want a Vanguard to protect the team? Let the poor Statue man rest.
