MMR Is Misleading, Innacurate, And Based Off Of Win/Loss.

so in my placements, i noticed something odd.. I never went negative once, at all, even in a LOSS i go postive, sure that one lux game got me, but im not a lux main, and im not sure about playing zed.

My csing was decent, warding, everything was fine, and i got an mmr of b2. Skip ahead 1 game later. Same, possibly better stats, we lost, my mmr goes to bronze 4, even though i played great. I dont get this system. At. All. MMR is suppost to me personal rating level or "secret rank" its not, it just keeps a track of your last season rank, thats it. It doesnt show your secret rank or anything. I doubt my mmr is bronze with my csing, decision making, kp (kill participation), etc. MMR is just bs, and doesnt work. fix it.

Ultimately, it's based on how well the people you get matched with play, since your own individual performance plays no role whatsoever. Matchmaking doesn't care if you made lots of amazing plays and you'd definitely have won if everyone played as well as you did. A loss is a loss.

It doesn't make sense to use an Elo system for team games. It ought to be a running joke that Riot actually uses it for a game like League of Legends, but everyone takes the subject of Elo so, so seriously.

Everyone takes ELO serious because nobody wants to be known as a minority, or a casual player. Most people want to be platinum and up. Unfortunatly, sometimes u carry, sometimes u dont.

Simple question for you: If the enemy team is setting up for Baron, your teammates setting up to contest it, and you the jungler, are farming at bot lane, are you doing the right thing?

depends...thats not a easy ting to answer not knowing all the stats, theres multi ways it can go depending on if your team is stronger n contest a 4v5 baron attempt while the jgler splits(relaly should be the person with tp splitting while the jgler has a steal chance but w\e).

If you are not stronger n cant 4v5 contest but have long range poke n they have lil to no engage you can try n poke to softin them up to pick up a few kills, or get them off while the jgler splits.

Or if you cant contest n have no poke, not strong, they have hard engage ect then should give it up no point in going 4v5 n getting wiped by them, then they get 4 kills baron n possibly a inhib

this game is a think in the moment not if x did y = z kinda thing theres just way to much info that can go on for a is this the right thing to do question imo

Perfect conclusion, and I completely agree. This is exactly why a system that assigns rating based on anything other than win/loss is inherently flawed.

MMR is pretty accurate IF (and that's a big IF) you play enough game.

Yes, you can get lucky or unlucky over the course of a few games, and your MMR will change based on luck and not based on your skills. But luck doesn't exist on the long term. Play enough games and your MMR will really, and precisely, reflect your own skills.

So yes, the system isn't perfect, it cannot magically guess your true skills out of nowhere, and you need to play a lot. But it's not BS, it works, and it won't be changed. Don't be delusional.
