Is Talon underpowered?

Maybe it's just me, or I'm bad, but whenever I play talon, I do barely any damage. My R and W, especially. The Rakes slow is amazing, but it just does no damage, but is a great crowd control, as we all know, but whenever I try to single out an enemy (like a riven) I can only trade, not killing, and at which point they camp tower to recall. I can basically do nothing without my R ready, too.

The build I usually run is the usual ghostblade, duskblade, black cleaver, e.t.c

This also makes me feel how limited this new meta is, with nearly everyone equipping duskblade and ghostblade.

(SIDENOTE: am I the only one who thinks Jayce is so over powered it's not even funny?)

Well, tbh, talon is a high-skill-cap champion. plus, well, he can run away very well ahhaha.. more practice is reccomended.

Yes

He needs buffs

Well one buff specifically.

A marco needs to be attached to his E(that's his parkour right?) so that when he hops over a wall he will always automatically /all PARKOUR!

Talon is a straightforward combo assassin. His abilities individually do poor damage, but when put together you did massive damage. None of his abilities are a nuke unless used together.

At level 1 your main goal is to farm and land W hits on the enemy. If they are melee you can use the slow to proc thunderlords easily.

At level 2 you spike insanely hard because now you gain access to your passive. His damage largely comes from that. Now you can either use 1 of 3 combos that change depending on your lane:

W>Q>AA>Ignite: This combo is more reactive. If you land with hits of your W then go for the Q, and you'll likely get a kill if you poked properly at level 1.

Q>AA>W>AA>ignite: this combo is a full all in, where you Q to the enemy, auto attack, land both W procs from point blank then use the slow to pop your passive. Ignite if necessary.

AA>point blank crit Q>W>AA>ignite: this combo is used against melee targets. You start with an auto attack, animation cancel it with Q, which usually throws another auto attack, then land both W Procs into the last auto for passive.

Talon is all about combos, once you learn how to tie things together, his damage I'd insane.

Hell no

  1. Don't work around your abilities, work around his passive
  2. Forcing a laner to recall gets you more gold, more lane experience and more pressure if you manage the wave properly
  3. Learn the combos
  4. Unless ahead, stay away from extended fights with bruisers, fighters, tanks and juggernauts. Your main job is to explode the apc and/or adc and provide aoe armor shred in a team fight.
  5. Talon has balanced risk/reward in his calculating playstyle.
  6. Know your powerspikes (lvl 2, 3 or 4 (depending on when you get 2 points in W), 6, 11)
