Make URF permanent. OR ELSE!

Citron77··5 votes·965 views

Why is URF not always available to play? So many people love it. Pro players make countless videos of their URF games. I get the feeling that everyone is just having more fun. I say that because I haven't had the usual complaining/trolling/afk that usually comes with the league community

It seems ridiculous that URF isn't always playable. Why is that the one game mode that makes the community a little happier and less stressful is only here for a short time???

I don't see any plausible reason to not make URF a permanent game mode. What are reasons not to?

Bugs? Whoever says this doesn't realize that URF is a giant bug basically! 80%CDR reduced death timers. My longest game I've played is 25 minutes!! It's a spamming game mode!

But who knows Riot probably will take it away because they like to watch us suffer. It gets them off xD

" Why is that the one game mode that makes the community a little happier and less stressful is only here for a short time???" weird, urf legitimately made me want to kill myself. people are even more toxic and tryhard in urf because all people want to do is spam ezreal, zed sona eve and shaco.

I felt the same way. You couldn't play the champs you wanted to play, but instead the champs that are the most broken. So you're forced to play/learn said broken champs OR LOSE HARD. Might as well call it Sona simulator. Or Azir or whoever else is OP as hell.

These pro players? I'm sure seen an equal amount complain that URF isn't fun anymore as well. Youtubers complaining as well.

No.. the only way URF should be permanent is if a) they actually balanced it, or b) champ select was random a la ARAM so you didn't just only get the broken champs.

ARAM isn't balanced, and it's not like people only have accounts with champions that are really good in ARAM, and ARAM is all they play on that account. Right? Right?

Also if you are with someone who says "you shouldn't pick yasuo, he blows chunks" or something like that, ignore/mute the player and then you can report the toxic player after the game. Other's don't have the right to 'bully' you into a pick you don't want.

Also isn't that what happens in ranked and normals as well, If you were going to play support ashe what would people say, how about support LB or Zed? What about AP naut? In URF you have a lot more that you can viably play with out people getting grumpy at you...

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/4gnoa0/urf_popularity_and_winrate/ Actually people want to spam EZ, zed, shaco, blitz, lux, and all 5 of those are not in the top 5 win rate.

OR ELSE

I love these people who actually think their threats mean anything. Really funny.

Because if it was always a game mode it would eventually die out and get boring, just like dominion! Case Closed.

Pretty much, these game modes are based on novelty, which is why they are limited.

And that's not even considering the resources they'd need to use to keep the other game mode up, and that if they actually keep it, they'd have to divide manpower in order to balance it and whatnot, it'd divide the queues and so on, basically, reasons that made them give Dominion the axe.

Basically, it's not worth it.

People never realize that the novelty would wear off. It'd be like if Christmas was everyday.

Sure, there aren't that many Dominion flairs around, and granted I don't even have it on all the accounts I played dominion on, but... I loved dominion, it didn't get stale, and I didn't need to have an hour to play a game, and if that game went bad have to wait till the 20 minute mark to surrender and then MAYBE be able to play another game with in that hour...

But what about ARAM, isn't that the exact thing you are talking about, a 'fun gamemode' that requires a tiny bit of man power to balance a few things (whats orb of winter) (whats snowball) but over all gets left alone.

But I enjoyed dominion because it was like a team death match, good place to practice builds and fool around with friends in a maximum of 20 minute matches that averages at 15 minutes. On top of that, you often get full build at the 20 minute mark, you don't really fall behind in kills and don't need to worry about team mates flaming as hard as they would in Rift. At least this was from my experience.

I would understand if you wanted the two weeks we should have gotten, but for permanent is too much. I hope they at least extend the cycle life time for events to a week long rather than a mere weekend in the future.

if it was always up it wouldn't be appreciated as much, like dominion, crystal scar or aram

Icestar11861 votes

It would get stale as hell. People would create an URF metagame - by the looks of things last weekend, they already have. Riot would need to balance it. And balancing URF is flat-out impossible.

makes the community a little happier and less stressful

Did you even look at the boards last weekend?

OR ELSE!

Or else what? What the hell can you do that would make an entire company change their policy, when most people like the rotating queue?

I don't see any plausible reason to not make URF a permanent game mode. What are reasons not to?

Because when a mode is made permanent, it will lose its value overtime, and then becomes the next Dominion.

MisterShameless1 votes

The only reason why Dominion lost value was because they literally never touched it or even consider to think about it since release.

Just look at Twisted Tree line, it also has been out for ages and got small changes at its start of its lifespan. A few months ago, they touched on it again after ages and all they did was add a single row of turrets and update the turret models. They don't do much outside of rift honestly.

No flash no life1 votes

Because, assuming what you said is true, then everyone will be spamming urf and all other modes will become vacant.

Personally I found the latest urf not as entertaining as it used to be, though a big, big part of that is because they nerfed my urf main hard so I can't enjoy it as much as I did anymore.

Bugs? You mean the 300% uptime on Garen spin? (meaning its hitting 3 times when it should only hit once, oh and he can get his silence off in the middle of his spin stacking as well). Same with rumble's flame. And Lulu's Glitter lance rarely not doing damage(if you hit something with max range glitter lance, then move as close as you can to it and fire glitter lance as soon as you can, it won't do any damage).

Now granted I love URF too, but some of these 'bugs that don't matter' should be squashed...
