Why delete the item if it is rarely used?

I hear these rumors of Riot planning to remove Zz'rot and Ohmwrecker.

Why? If they're not being used as often, why take them away? Just leave them in the store and either people will be them, or people won't. What's the point in removing them completely?

Some people like those items, you know.

No i use zzrot!

Because there are new players that wouldn't know that they're extremely poor items, so they'd put themselves behind.

That's terrible logic. They're not bad, they are niche. Zz'rot in particular is 100% gold efficient without the passive. I'd rather PLAYERS learn to play the game, rather than Riot dictating what is to be played which sadly is happening more and more.

It's not about being used rarely; it's about being used rarely because the instances in which they ARE chosen are actually wrong decisions. Zz'Rot is a fun item to use, but it admittedly competes with Banner for the same niche: split pushing a lane. Riot could do something to make Banner more of a "use this item to make sieging the main lane better" and Zz'rot more of a "use this item to make sieging the secondary lane better."

Ohmwrecker however has no niche as one simply gets more armor or health to do the same thing as the active.
