A little idea that might prevent ARAM dodges

Hi all. This is my first time posting. I am a casual player, and spend most of my time in league in ARAM. I suppose almost everyone has had the similar experience of luckily having your main champ locked, while someone just brutally dodges. It is extremely disappointed for players with a huge champ pool, as the probability of getting the same champ is tiny. For some popular champs, like zed or whatever, people would even threat you to trade with them, otherwise they just dodge so none of you can enjoy. This was one of my personal experiences. And the direct motive for this post is that, I just experienced six dodges in a row. Painful and a waste of time. Anyway this is like the background. My little idea, if this is feasible technologically, is that, random-champ-selection in ARAM should be an independent part of the match-up, i.e., if somebody dodges and you are back in the queue, you still have the same champ to play in the next ARAM game. As long as the game has not started, you are stick to this champ unless re-roll using the points. The main reason people dodge is that they do not have re-roll points yet still want to change what they play. Once dodge no longer "re-rolls" your champ, I hardly think anybody would dodge again. The whole point of ARAM is playing randomly, since luck is not always on your side. But you still try your best to win, even with a nightmare team build-up.

What do you think?

If this is not the best place to post this, can someone kindly point me the way to deliver this idea, please? Thanks a lot.

I have often had a similar experience, but not 6 in a row. I have thought that, if someone dodges, it would be nice to have the choice to keep the champ you had or get a free re-roll to use immediately for having to deal with the inconvenience of someone else dodging.

Also, if you are the dodger, it might make sense that you automatically get the same champ the next time you log in to play ARAM.

Never dodged an Aram, but since I know who is gonna win just looking at the 2 team compositions... Something really needs to be fixed :P

I just experienced six dodges in a row.

I win with 7 haHAA

As for your change, either you get your main twice in a row, or you get udyr twice in a row. In the long run, it doesn't change anything, you'll get as many good champions as bad champions. It would fix the case where you went from first champ select your main to second champ select udyr, but make the case first champ select udyr second champ select your main worse.

I'd love if the dodge timer scaled exponentially as the timer gets closer to 0(1 hour dodge timer for dodging at 1 or 0). If you're gonna dodge do it in the beginning.

I play ARAM a lot too, and though I don't wait to dodge at the last second to waste people's time, there are just some champions I just refuse to play. Firstly, because I just find them to be that boring, and secondly, because I'm terribly bad at them and would probably feed, even if not intentionally.

Last time I got (and played) Riven, I went something like 0/18/3 or something miserable like that. Melee duelists/assassins are my weakest role by far. As a result, my team was bad mouthing me the entire time and I got reported for intentionally feeding (even though I had warned them). Since then, I've just dodged rather than putting myself or anyone through that experience again.

And at the end of the day, I rather put up with a few dodges, if it means I don't have to waste a whopping 15~20 minutes being stuck in a game where someone (or myself) is forced to play a champion they actually hate, and are just going to do horribly at and probably be in a bad mood as a result, resulting in increased toxicity.

All this said, I usually only play ARAM if I have at least 1 roll, but usually 2, to keep the dodging to a minimum and also because realistically, a team that has 10 total rerolls will usually have a higher chance of winning more often than a team with 0. I also don't mind trading or rerolling for other strangers if they ask nicely and really want the champion I rolled.
