How to CS properly?

I know it's more than just last-hitting as many minions as you can. Something about controlling the waves. How does this work? Is it implementable in low elo? I've heard "just hit 2 casters and stop" but I'm not sure what that means.

The casters have more ad and less health than the melee minions. If you want to push the wave you kill the casters as fast as you can before touching the melee minions and if you want to freeze your lane you only last hit. Depending on your champ, you wait until the last possible moment to hit each minion. A good way to practice this is to go into a practice game with no runes or masteries, no items, and no abilities and just sit there focusing on only last hitting to freeze your wave.

Another little trick is that if you want to roam or leave your lane for teamfights/objectives is to kill off a single caster minion from a wave. This will cause the waves to meet in that spot for a while and your minions will gradually grow into a super wave of 30+ minions. This will force the enemy to either leave to stop the wave leaving your team with a 4v5 or they will lose a tower.

I've been told to kill the three casters to make a big wave, it won't take the tower itself but it's pretty big and it happens faster (i.e. is more reliable)

Those videos were quite helpful.

However, most players in low elo wont follow this guideline, most of us just kill the creeps asap. This inevitably leads to early leads on one side because they continue to push waves into a tower. I know how to CS under tower, but what exactly would you do about this? Let them push and hope the jg is competent, or destroy the cs back at him? Or does it depend on who you're facing...?

Lat hitting is pretty easy. Minions have no armor or MR so you AD is how much damage youll do them with you AA's. As for the rest of it im sure theres a youtube video on it somewhere

turn off AA in settings it makes it easier to control waves and kill 2 casters is what that means.

casters deal more damage but have less hp while front line have more hp and deal less damage

Depends what you're trying to do, tbh.

If you want CS first and foremost, make a freeze.
