Why is this now a thing? Unless you can clutch an early win your team is weak af mid/late because you literally have no tank.
Can we correct this stupidity somehow?

the same reason you play adcs top
to cheese the fk out of the other melee laner and hope you can deny them so much farm or kill them so bad they never become relevant
Stuff like this is why I gave up on ever playing Irelia or Shen top
Now that you have said this, I have to try this.
I was able to carry myself to diamond 3 playing azir top since I almost never get mid anymore.
