remove bans and the ability to not have dup champs in games...

ive been playing since s2 right, so i understand the occasional exceptions to having a champ banned, such as when a new champ is released and people who havent even read the abilitys play them in your ranked game when youre on your promos. or when a champ gets over buffed and wont get a hotpatch for a week or two. but in a game thats 5v5 whose the best, you give one team a clear advantage over the other team by allowing alternating picks? and the fact you cant pick a champ because someone on the other team picks it..you know how many times i get one trick players on my team and watch them be just absolutely horrible because their champ was either picked or banned?

and one might say well stop one tricking and learn to play other champs, thats great and all but i cant force others to play more than 1 champ. it also takes away from the principle of the game to see exactly who is better...so im supposed to lose LP and be deemed the worser player because i get counter picked right off the get go, ive seen terrible terrible players stomp high ranked players solely due to a counter pick,

if i que for a lane, lets say mid, i should have a fair chance at winning lp to prove my skill level. lets say they pick my main, well now i have 2 options, play his counter , which im no good at...or practice playing his counter until im sufficient enough to play ranked to be able to win, well as fate would have it, theyve banned his counter

my point of my rant is that by adding bans, by adding the ability to see who the other team is picking, by not allowing the same champ on each team, you take a game that SHOULD be based on skill, and replaced it with RNG and pregame strategy

ive had games where i que for adc and of the 4 adcs im good/decent at, 3 get banned, and the other gets picked...now i have to play a ranked game with a champ im know im trash with, or beg to switch to another lane and hope my team carrys me.

have the lcs guys play comptetitive games where you cant see champs and there is no bans and watch the true competition happen,

i just dont see how someone can earn points, proving they were better, and someone losing points, due to conditions comepletely out of their hands, thats not called skill level, thats called RNG

on a side note i usually stick around the g2/g3 elo

theres no ranking system in blind pick...and the fact there is a blind pick only proves my point lol, the ranked system has huge flaws in terms of being a truly fair system to see whose better

No, the fact that Blind Pick exists only proves that people need a mode where you can practice against humans.

Nobody should take Blind games seriously considering how it's infested with bot profiles.

so if 1000 ppl que at a time, the chances of me getting a diamond smurf is very low, but its possible i get one, just like loot drops in any chest you open..completely RNG,such as the new TFT. i also have a chance to be last pick, meaning i may not get my champs, or i could be first pick, and get hard countered, i also have a random chance that everyone who joins bans my champs,...thats the definition of everything being random...the absolute only thing you are in control of is who you pick AFTER,i repeat AFTER the 9 other people in the game decide who you cant play, so yes its fucking random

Lol no. You're quite idiotic if you think removing bans and allowing multiple champions in normal play is a good idea. If you want that, go play blind pick, thats EXACTLY what it's there for.

It isn't a rare event for champs to be wildly overpowered. Between the different items, runes and the sheer amount of champs in the game there will always be a clear outlier in performance, usually more than one in fact. Bans are the simplest solution to this problem, they also serve as a metric for further balancing. In your scenario we would commonly see mirror matches of the most op champs of the patch, and I'm sorry but that is just not very likely to ever happen. For ranked that is, like others have said blind pick exists and it's basically exactly what you want.

so you think that mirrors playing each other is a bad idea? why? the point of ranked is to beat your opponent and the "better" player gain points and advance up the ranked system, what better way to see who is the better player than 2 people having an equal oppertunity at playing the same champ...how many times have you seen people go 1v1 in lane and one of them loses and they challenege them to a 1v1 where they both play the same champ to see who is better.. happens 1/5 games for me

I think that having to only deal with the same op champs every game is indeed a bad idea. Like I said earlier certain champs are just going to be better than others, usually by a significant amount. Players who either need a crutch or are simply trying to take every advantage for the win are going to pick said champions. This will of course result in a great increase in mirror matches and that will lead to a lack of diversity in games and for those who try to break the mold they will inevitably get slapped by the offending out-of-line champs. More diversity is always preferable over a stagnant state, it's why Riot makes changes so often, why they introduce more champions into the game, and why they do random game modes at all.

I understand that you likely feel that if you could just choose your champ you could probably win all your games at a 75% rate or some other silly number, but let me elucidate something for you because you seem rather stuck on this point. This is a 5 v 5 game, even if you happen to do well and beat your opponent there is no guarantee you win the game. Other lanes can win as well and shut you out, or maybe the jungler comes and stomps on you in order to prevent his laner from losing. What would you have Riot do then? Stop other players from leaving their lanes until the game is over? Erase jungling in it's entirety?

Beyond that being "better" isn't just about one's mechanical skill. I'm sure you already know this but skill in this game is measured in numerous ways, including champion knowledge, wave management, teamfighting, target priority ect. But what you may not realize is that being proficient at many champs is also a skill, and one that is rewarded in this system. If you want to crow on about two players pitting their skills against each other then I'm afraid to say that they already are, just not in a way you'd prefer.

As for that whole 1 v 1 me thing, I haven't heard anybody say that in a game in literal years, so I can't really say that it's all that common personally, not that it matters since 1 v 1ing is a terrible metric for skill in LoL.

So you just went down the list admitting the amount of luck in the game, but believe it doesn’t apply to ranked? That’s funny, and you can have all of those good qualities with wave management, target priorities ect ect, but so can the other team, so assuming everyone is equally as good as eachother, there are no afks, what does the game ultimately come down to? Whose got the better comp..but players don’t pick champs around team comps anymore, atleast not in the high gold/low plat Elo, everyone’s either trying to counterpick, or pick the most broken champion, resulting in shitty team comps, which will lose the game. Put 5 bots vs 5 bots, make one team fully counter the other team and see who wins, that’s exactly how it is in ranked 🤷🏻‍♂️

ok so i think you dont understand what pure luck means so ill explain.. if i were to que right now and play a game i may get LUCKY and not have someone on my team go afk in the first 5 min...i may get LUCKY that no one plays/bans my best champ, i may get LUCKY and have one of the other team members go afk, i may get LUCKY and have my team pick the best champs....or i could get unlucky and have worst case scenarios for each of those ....so yes..pure luck.. my best friend is terrible at this game, makes it to plat 1, when i watch his games it all makes sense, his team carries him HARD, he also doesnt get any afks, thats pure fucking luck, i can go to my match history and watch how i went from gold 1 to almost silver 1 in 2 days due only to afks and guys playing champs they never played because their main got banned/taken, now if i was lucky, i wouldnt have to deal with that

if comptetitive is blind pick then everyone will count on luck for having a good match up, and cant prepare for a bad one

imagine picking darius with teleport and fighting a ranged champ you never reach or picking ghost and fighting rekt a ton who is not planning to run away with his iginte

in blind you might get LUCKY and enemy pick a champion weak to yours , LUCKY because your team mate is not afk min 1 duo to match up, LUCKY that enemy is afk , LUCKY that your team mate is not on hype train, or you can get unlucky and have a way worst scenarios for each of those.

see i can spam cap lucky and cry its pure luck, your friend is good, you suck but cant admit he is better then you and say he get hard carried.

you went to silver because you suck and cant admit you sucked and want to blame anything but your self that you sucked
