AFK's in Ranked

Just got out of a ranked where our LB was afk for the first 8 minutes. For whatever reason it wouldn't allow us to remake and had to suffer 20 mins of slow loss in a 5v4, and lose LP over it.

Now, I don't really care about the person being punished, Riot can do with them as they please since that's a difficult subject due to unintentional dc's etc. The thing is, I'll likely never see them again - what I care about is having a player on my team AFK'd for any significant amount of time, and I still have to lose LP over it.

We all know the struggle, I have a very positive win rate right now so I know I'll get where i want to before the season ends, but that is some disheartening shit that just makes you not wanna play afterwards at all.

I just don't see why its such a difficult issue. You're playing at a player handicap? You should not lose LP. Period. Like... end of story. Why is that even still a thing. The winning team? I don't know, that's a bit trickier, I'll give you that. Full LP? Maybe slightly reduced LP reward depending? As I said, the AFK person? Don't care myself. Just... god damn man. Current system is silly.
