@Riot why you lying to us? at least be consistent in your lies.

From riot's matchmaking explanation https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752954-Matchmaking-Guide#q1. Another poster linked it, and I was so surprised, because I had never read that.

Step 1: Determine strength:

If a player is queued alone, the strength is determined by his personal matchmaking rating (referred to as MMR from here on out) and number of wins for that particular queue.

So, lets see this statement, from now on, and for the following example, we take into account that we always face the same quality of oposition, since the impact of that quality doesnt matter for us.

We have MMR, it obviously depends on the number of won games and lost games. But, obviously, two players with different amount of wins (one 10 and another 100) can have the same MMR, just because they have different amount of lost games (lets say 8 and 80 for the previous example, i know, that's not accurate, but nvm, whatever numbers, they can have the same MMR).

Now it comes to the second part of the phrase "and number of wins for that particular queue.". It implies that two players with equal MMR will be matched differently depending on the amount of wins. So, two players having same mmr but different amount of won games DONT HAVE THE SAME MATCHMAKING ANYMORE!!!. So, if two players have the same MMR, and different number of wins, what's the difference between those 2 players??? YES, the difference is PROGRESSION!

Now lets see the next statement in the riot's matchmaking explanation.

No. The system does not use your LP,** progression status**, tier, division, or any other piece of League information.

WHAT THE F+++++!!

Seriously, riot, stop lying to us!. Not only it is SO OBVIOUS that the system takes into account progression, but you yourself are telling to us that you are taking into account progression in your matchmaking description a few lines above, you are pissing on us and calling it rain.

Nobody in this universe should care about competing in this game, because it is A JOKE. Going through a bunch of unfair missmatched games just because you have good progression has nothing to do with fair competition.

You want to compete? ok, it's up to you, you should at least be aware that your progression will lead to UNFAIR competition. Wanna deal with that anyway? as I said, up to you.

At least riot should change their matchmaking description if they want to lie to us, to be coherent in their lies.

Ofc the matchmaking is rigged. I don't know why people even try to defend it. Just a recent example of my smurf plat 3: Before promo our teams consists of: Plat 3,3,3,4,3 and enemy team: 3,3,4,4,3 Next game i was in my promos: our team: plat 3,3,3,5,3 and enemy team: 3,2,2,2,2 I get a division lower player than before and the enemy gets two division higher and one higher. Sure it's just one example but holy is that obvious and i know that division is not the same as MMR but it's a good indicator how this works. I even checked both of my lower teammates only according to op.gg but still: the plat 4 has a plat 3 MMR and the plat 5 has a plat 5 MMR and gets in a game against high plats. The plat 5 also wasn't premade with anyone. And i still have a 60% winrate on this account tho it dropped from 70% already. I should be placed with diamonds tbh with that winrate in plat but somehow i get even lower ones. And yes, plat 5 and plat 2-1 is a HUGE difference in skill. Before master tier you had a huge difference between dia 1 0 lp and 50+ lp. Same as dia 5 and 1 is different nowadays.

lol I just wrote a thread about matchmaking too but did you also see the part at the end of that website? The one where they said solo queue is based on your personal mmr but then at the end they say your mmr is decided by how well your TEAM does. It's fun really.

Riot is ALWAYS hypocritical, they lie constantly, make broken promises etc.

And you get punished (flagged afk) for not wanting to play with intentional afk'er. Riot does this on purpose to force the player into accepting the loss placement system. 5v5 win 5v5 win placed in afk group 3v5 lose 3v5 lose 5v5 win 3v5 lose 3v5 lose 5v5 win 5v5 win 5v5 win 3v5 lose...... forever... and ever... and ever... Epic used the same system on Paragon these companies are just masters of deception. All of these game companies need to be re-vamped with "fun" as the factor not "manipulation". Greed and the love of money is the only thing they care about. its ok to want money.. but the "love" of money is the root of all evil.

Can someone explain this to me a bit more? I don't really play ranked that much (until recently, really want to get out of my embarrassing rank). I don't really understand what MMR is, and in what way is it rigged? Who is it rigged against (who is put at a disadvantage?)

Sorry for being sorta new in this domain, I'd still consider myself fairly new at the game as I only started in season 6 :)
