Spectating is three minutes behind for this very reason.

As stated by Nanuk (interesting name), spectating is 3 minutes behind so that a person can't "cheat".

It's Inuit for "Great Beast / Polar Bear, the ever-wandering one". :3

I admire your creativity.

Uh...if that were even possible people would just have their friends spectate their games and tell them where their opponents are over voice chat...which would mean the majority of people would be cheating to win...I don't know why you would think riot wouldn't have considered that long ago

You can still time enemy summoner spells so 3 mins will still give an advantage.

In the words of a wise person, "If you have to ask yourself whether or not it's allowed, it's probably not a good idea."

But, spectating has a 3-minute delay for just that reason.
