Gargoyle stoneplate balancing
Just wanted to give some thought on gargoyle stoneplate, which i feel is a necesary item to have, so as to make as many champions competitive as possible, but i also feel is currently out of line.
I think the active should give a shield insted of Health. the pros: It would stop what i would consider abuse cases: Cho gath's R and combining it with Locket of the Iron Solari. The cons: None? This change is so obvious that it must be intended that its Health over a shield, so there must be some kind of reasoning i havent heard
I think the active should reduce all crowd control by 60%, as well as damage (or any other %). Why?: I think that this item is one of the primary reasons we currently have a "tank-meta". On tanks, the damage reduction on the active doesn't matter, so its 6 seconds of being unkillable if you are ahead. The only counterplay is waiting, if the stoneplate user is ahead in the game. the other "counterplay" is to focus the stoneplate user down, which i wouldnt consider counterplay, since its mostly what the stoneplate user wants. What im getting at is, that the damage reduction isnt as much of a "cost" for the health boost, if you have cc - this also applies to bruisers who buys this item. This change would make stoneplates Health boost not practically costfree on champions with cc, which in turn would make the decision of when to activate stoneplate not be "as soon as i go in" - which i think is the intention with this item.
This last suggestion comes with a bit of pitfalls tho: Knockups wouldnt be reduced by reducing crowd controls effectiveness - like Jarvans e-q combo. Maokai ults and the like - if you fire a cc effect, then 3 seconds later activate the stoneplateactive, and then the cc effect hits i would guess that the cc is reduced if you make this change - i dont know if thats desireable
thoughts?
