How do you counter Yi?

So in most cases when I play against a decent Yi he will wipe the floor with my team, snowball like mad and the proceed to be able to take out many people by himself all the while hes spamming alpha strike so no one can hit him, I just don't see how this champ is at all balanced, even after snowballing being able to wipe out three people who are under turret at more or less full hp seems really broken..... Some people have told me he is not overpowered but looking at his kit and seeing him in action I fail to see where there is any balance, what his Q does is usually reserved for ults on other champs and even then the likes of Shyavna and Vi can just be killed mid ult all they get is "unstoppable" but not untargetable, can anyone give me some honest advice because I am rarely not pulling my hair out and getting extremely frustrated when the enemy team has a Yi, no matter what I do

My biggest problem being I cannot hit him before all my hp is just gone, at least when playing any non jung, and even then most jungs I cannot kill him fast enough at the same level even because I can't hit the bastard, and don't say crowd control because his alpha strike just avoids that in most cases
