Dr. Mundo is just completely broken.... why?

MetaGeek··7 votes·5,732 views

OK so how the hell is Dr. Mundo fair? at the end of a game he can walk away from combat for like five seconds and be at full hp, there is being a tank and then there is being effectively invulnerable ind any one v one situation and nearly un-killable even with the entire team pounding on him. Like I have said Yi is broken but catch him off guard you can kill him, Dr. Mundo.... just soaks up damage like a sponge then heal whatever he takes in seconds HOW IS THIS FAIR?

Old champions are unhealthy, but Riot is too scared to change them because they will have to make the champion less braindead to play and bad players don't want that and most people that play league are bad.

DrMundo Fiddlesticks Pantheon MasterYi Tryndamere and many more all need reworks.

Mundo has consistently been far stronger in higher elo than low

He even had a short stint of being pick/ban in competitive.

Katarina Riven Volibear as well aren't very healthy either because they're too strong or they're just unhealthy in the sense they could be considered a troll pick.

I love how during the recent live patch feed riot did, they talked about going through old champions and reworking/modifying their kits to fit what league is today but they completely ignored the handful of champions that are original champions that have virtually never been touched with a buff/nerf/rework yet still, to this day, have higher ban rates than 90% of all the champions in the game. These champs, especially Trynd, Mundo, and also Garen, are game breaking champs. They are inevitable, no matter what you do, short of not fighting at all, they are guaranteed to become almost unkillable and will almost single handedly win the game by themselves. That is something that should not ever be a thing in a game that is based off of earning your gold and therefore strength. Earning. Not having your strength waiting there for you at the ready.

I mean, Yeah, yi is broken, but then we have nid who is useless in jung anymore, and annie who honestly is an old one but fairly balanced tho i think more range is called for on her, honestly i just wish the game was more balance if there is a set of champs everyone bans all the time it should be a clue

I was actually just talking about this with one of my friends. Riot has been so afraid of nerfing champs into the void, that instead of actually nerfing them, they have started to change the game around their broken nature to compensate for it. It all started with the release of Kayn, a champ that broke ganking and almost made a fundamental part of winning games useless, the ability to ward and always know when there are enemies coming in to your lane, Kayn bypassed that, he can come in completely undetected. So instead of fixing their mistake, riot started adapting the game around this, Talons slight rework was next, now there is a champion that has the capability of countering this gamebreaking ability. But that didn’t fix the issue of damage balancing between two separate endgame forms, darkin still being the most broken jungle in the game, the lifesteal, the mobility, the ultimate and healing gained from that. So they brought in Aatrox’s rework and hoped that that would even it out, and it didn’t, and now we come to the new bounty system, a system that makes having a significant lead mid game, hard earned, and hard fought for, completely and utterly useless because the enemy team decides to focus you in a heavily one sided team fight and even though you are the only one that died, their hardcarry just got 1300 gold, then bam, lead gone.

ChampionHurley1 votes

Oh and I almost forgot, this constant fear of overnerfing champs lead to broken abilities and kits running rampant so they had to compensate with other popular champs and boost items and lifesteal, and now here we are, where there are at least 5 champs in every lane that can absolutely destroy you without barely lifting a finger at level 3. It’s also because of the changes they made to the runes to be heavily focused around adaptive damage and increased scaling through runes. It’s just getting out of hand and it needs to be fixed

Mundo isn't the only one either... so many champs just get ahead easy and then there is no stopping them, Nasus for example... I just want a game that I am not pulling my hair out every other match

Eedat3 votes

Because Mundo is easy as fuck to kite in fights. The dude legit just runs at people. Its like Nasus and Udyr. Annoying in a 1v1 but completely fucking useless in team fights because he cant do anything other than eat CC and hope to not die. He's legit one of the worst champs in the game rn

ChampionHurley1 votes

I don’t know what rank you are playing at, but Mundo, Nasus, and Udyr are some of the most dominating champions in the jungle and top lane in season 9, they are champs that are essentially inevitable, not so much udyr, but Nasus and Mundo are, you can counter build against Mundo, and counter pick against Nasus and zone the crap out of both of them, but unless you have eyes on them constantly and are spending the entire game blocking them from farming, they will continue to farm until they are the sole reason their team is winning. Especially since they buffed Mundo’s ult effectively making Grievous Wounds useless against him

KFCeytron3 votes

Also on Mundo's team that match was a Chogath item 3800 item 3001 item 3111 item 3115 item 3124 item 3031 with more kills, damage dealt, and healing done compared to the Mundo (with a slight edge in damage taken for Mundo). Why isn't this thread about that? Cho with IE and no crit chance must be strong.

You were the only one on your team with Grievous Wounds (kudos to you for that) except Zyra's Ignite, and his ult is balanced around being affected by GW, so whenever you weren't dealing magic damage to him, it was overpowered. If one of your team's marksmen had had item 3033 it might've helped.

Mundo is barely viable.

That is the uncomfortable truth of this situation.

All that said, however... yes, Mundo is absolutely awful to deal with and needs a rework, and he is my preferred ban when playing draft modes. His ult regen used to be strong normally and garbage when under GW, and then it was buffed to be strong when under GW and ridiculously OP otherwise. It forces opponents into a certain build path lest they face an unkillable menace, and it's simply a poor design that did not merit such a buff and should've stayed in the dumpster along with cleaver spam.

Eh i felt i could actually damage cho tbh slowly but still, while mundo just i never saw low and easy target cho was low at times at least, idk i think any self healing tank needs more balance like Voli, he has a passive that heals a lot but even then at the rate of a potion not in five seconds and it has a big cool down

Mundo only heals like that with his ult. Try to bait out his ult, and then force an engage when it's down.

But I do agree that it is ridiculous.

ChampionHurley2 votes

How are you supposed to bait it out when it gives him a 35% movement speed bonus and then goes on a 25 second cooldown? I say this as a person who has tried this many times, baiting it doesn’t work when the cooldown isnt even long enough for the next minion wave to arrive.

Since when has Dr.Mundo become a problem? He's a BIG MEATY TANK & if he can sit in the middle of the enemy team longer than 10 seconds, he's doing his job.

However, He is an oldie that could use some work at somepoint. Instead of being some big purple guy that chucks cleavers like a machine gun, this guy has the potential to be a Hulking Zaunite Menace that will just squash or mangle anyone that gets in his way.

Sounds almost like what I normally hear people say about Garen when they're complaining. The thing with mundo though is that he doesn't even need to walk out of the fight for 5 seconds to heal all the way up, he just needs to press R :P The walking out of a fight for 5 seconds and coming back full hp is more of a warmogs thing than a mundo thing, it's the healing while taking damage that makes Mundo different

Cunning Enigmah2 votes

just finished a game against a mundo, literally 5v1 for around 2 minutes he survived and then popped his ult and escaped, when we all had around 30% hp from that fight 5 seconds after he ulted, he's back to 100% health and got a quadra, i managed to escape with 24 hp as an adc cait with full build, he had around 80% hp at the end result

mundo mains? don't ask them if mundo broken, funny enough somehow they'll tell you that he's so weak a poro could kill him, and that tanks are dead (some guy even told me tanks are dead since season 2) I don't know what game they've been playing but it sure don't sound like league of legends to me, they're like yasuo mains, hell any main refuse to think that his main is broken when they are, ask any fucker if their champ is broken and they'll flat out tell you the exact opposite, it's one big joke

MandelyH1 votes

Yea but only if youre ADC and your mid are AFK. Mundo isnt even close to OP, if he gets focused he dies within seconds, especially now where everybody has gravious wounds. And in lane he can do nothing else but farm with his Q, he loses to most bruisers, Irelia, Renekton, and so on.

There are only a few champs that mundo can win against, liek ChoGath etc. Mainly AP Toplaners, if Mundo cant get SV he blows.

like I said, you'll make him sound like he can die to a poro, no, mundo doesnt die in seconds, unless you're 5 levels above him, I DID have GW, 3 of us had GW, ADC's are so weak and the biggest proof is that they buffed ADC items this patch, just get off your high horse man, mundo is broken, maybe YOU lose playing him, but not someone that knows how to abuse his damage creep kit
