Let's not forget that with the vector cast change she also lost the ability to activate the ability when you press the button out of her max cast range. Before you could click outside it and it would activate the cast at the max range and then you could choose your direction and combo. Now with the vector change this is no longer possible and if you click the spell out of her max range she will instead walk forward before activating or in some situations the spell will queue up and activate wherever you moved your mouse to after pressing the button out of the max range.
The main problem with this is that is completely messes up the old combo of E into W since it required predicting your opponents movements quickly and reacting. If you click slightly out of her max range she won't cast the spell but if you held the button down and then dragged it towards the direction you wanted, the cast will just go off wherever you let go of the button inside her spell range. You might think this isn't a big deal but it consistently has caused my W casts to start next to me instead of at the max range where I was intending to cast the spell. Because of this now using E into W is basically pointless since there is so much room for error and this forces you to cast W into E. This itself ruins Taliyah for me because it takes away the option to play her the way I learned to and grew accustomed to.
I think if they were going to change the cast type this long after her release, they should have found a way to maintain the ability to activate the spell at max range when targeting outside of the max range like how the ability used to be. Riot stated that this function isn't possible with vector casting. I don't mind number tweaks, you can buff a champion or nerf them and I will still find a way to play them, but this change ruined the champion for me and completely isolates me from being able to play her because the max range issue on W makes me spend more games frustrated while playing than having fun.
Not to mention to my knowledge the goal of the vector change was to increase Taliyah's playrate by making her more accessible. I don't understand how isolating the people who took the time to learn her and enjoyed her from her release by changing an entire aspect of the champion was fair on Riot's part. I don't want to play my favorite champion in this game now because Riot decided they wanted Taliyah to be more popular and ruined her playstyle for me, while to most people that probably isn't a big deal, it feels like a slap in the face to the few people like myself.
