Fiddlesticks Changes to Drain and Dark Wind
For a while now Fiddlesticks has been sitting on the farthest reaches of the jungler spectrum. With Magus gone and Runeglaive in, his power as one of the most feared junglers of early seasons has since vanished. His lack of mobility and easy counter play makes him less than desirable when choosing a champion. Although his kit is unique (having one of the few champion fears), it falls short on many levels.
I have always thought about what would happen if Fiddle could use his Drain will still be able to move. Hold your horses guys. I know this would be over powered, but the downside would be that his move speed would be reduced drastically. For the purpose of this example, lets say it sits at 40% move speed while casting. The channel time would still be there, and any hard forms of crowed control would interrupt his drain like normal. It could be canceled by pressing the ability's key again.
If you have trouble visualizing this concept, think about Karma and her W. It would behave exactly the same way, without the root at the end of the duration. Riot has been creeping more and more on the idea of updates and buffing older champions with outdated kits, so why not Fiddlesticks? His Ult holds great power, but can be stopped easily before his channel completes. This isn't to say that he shouldn't have counter play involved, but he could use a little mmphf but back in his step.
Another option I have been toying around with in my mind is with his E, Dark Wind. Silence has been making its way out of the game since it lacks counter play completely. I always felt Fiddle's silence was needed as a way to stop enemies from canceling his Drain channel and Fear to back it up again. What if Dark Wind were to be a narrow line skill shot instead, similar to a Nidalee Spear in width, but much shorter in range (similar to a Ryze Q). It would add more skill to play an otherwise 100% targeted ability champion.
Please comment with any realistic ideas for updating or buffing his kit in small ways that I haven't posted. I'm interested in hearing what the community has to say in regards our beloved scarecrow.
