Zero counterlay? Learn counterplay.
Long range every mage, Varus, Liss and Tf (map pressure and roam) counterplay for Azir.
Use a long-range mage. Also, Azir got a huge "Pile O' Nerfs™!" a few patches ago.
Try a champion that has map pressure or longer range than him.
I was playing nautilus support earlier and their azir got fed but i was still able to get to him often enough in a teamfights to help turn the game around
Ahri makes Azir into a chicken. As soon as he uses his sand soldier dash, you can ulti in, charm, W, Q, ignite, and use ulti to dodge his ulti since you have 3 charges that.... after the first.... do not cost any mana. If you do it well enough, you avoid any sand soldier attacks apart from MABEY the damage and slow from the dashing.
Azir has plenty of counterplay if you just know how to dodge the soldiers and capitalize on his vulnerability. Also, build some magic resist and learn how to zhonyas if he rushes in to ulti.
Any kind of hard CC and engage or escape makes Azir's life miserable.
