I agree buff ap varus. Make E do magic damage and give it 70% ap ratio

Varus is really good where he is. I think put his passive onto his E as a passive, and give him something else to replace. Otherwise he's really good Just have a full ad runepage and build max AD and your q hits like a leblanc.

Neither jinx nor Ashe does "long ranged poke" as well as he does. Ashe does have reliable engage, but I think Varus offers better teamwide disengage with his ultimate.

Varus doesn't need any changes right now, I play Varus A LOT. I have no issues competing with other ADCs to date with him. Lets not talk about him so he doesn't get a buff and then Rito over corrects a buff and then he ends up weaker than he is now.... Please!

Mobility isn't really that relevant here, considering Ashe is now extremely successful despite being the least mobile champion in the game (she has the lowest movement speed out there and no means of boosting her own movement). Similarly, Jinx's mobility isn't on-demand, and she struggles to escape from enemies who get close to her more than either Ashe or Varus. I also don't think it helps to assimilate Varus to Ashe or Jinx, because they accomplish very different functions: Varus has by far the longest-ranged poke, for example, and unlike the others has built-in anti-tank damage. I agree that he needs changes, but simply painting him as less than he is or can be does not do him justice, nor does it help figure out how he needs to improve.

Right now, I think the main problem with Varus is that his kit is poorly optimized, as was Ashe's before her mini-rework: his passive is infamously bad (kind of like old Ashe's, too), his abilities don't synergize with each other as well as they should (his E, especially, doesn't work that well with his Blight mechanic), and despite his innate potential for anti-tank destruction he doesn't scale that well into the late game, mainly due to poor power distribution (his passive, namely, but also the on-hit effect on his W, which accomplishes little even for AP Varus, and his ult, which rarely catches more than one person). With just the mechanics he has now, Varus could become an awesome poke- and area denial-focused marksman with top-tier anti-frontliner damage and control. He doesn't need a straight buff, per se, he just needs a few tweaks to make his kit mesh with itself better.
