When is the Garen nerf coming?q

Garen is in 80% of my games and he is absolutly busted. He is so easy to play and he has no counter play. He is so tanky that you cannot all in him. His passive is so strong that meaningful poke doesnt last on him at all. his inbuild silence means he can trade affectivly againt any champion. and to top it all off, his ult does so much damage.

He is considered s tier on near all the tier list sites, and he is so so so boring to play agaisnt.

When is the garen nerf? at my elo he is absolute hell. not everyone is challanger you know....

he fell off with the current patch, and hes very close to 50% winrate now. so if were lucky, there wont be any nerfs because they would be pointless now.

id suggest you get good.

Actually that is because his pickrate is sky-high at 11-12%

garen is a strategic champion, and not a crazy mechanical champion. he has a low skill floor, so his lowest winrate for new players isnt going to be much lower than his winrate for experienced players.

usually he has like 48% winrate for new players and caps out somewhere around 54% rather quickly with a bit of practise (where most other champions cap out aswell).

its not like azir or ryze with a high learning curve where you would expect a low as hell average winrate if they had a high pick rate, but like a 60% winrate on the few people who mastered them. a 50% winrate on garen is fine, even when hes picked a lot.

also, garens pick rate currently is more like 6% to 8%. it has been steadily declining since it shot up when his skin was released. its probably going to normalize itself further over the next two weeks, especially since the meta shifted with tanks being viable again, and garen losing a bit in strength.

I would have to disagree with this, Garen might have a really low skill floor but he is very important in strategic play, in other words macro play around his team, and since there are a lot of new players now, they usually strive for kills

he was really strong over the last couple of weeks because of the 1 shot meta.

a lot of people ran lethality marksmen, and a lot of assassins in their teamcomps. garen naturally counters this type of champion, so he became equally strong.

like nothing about the champion really changed, but only the way people built their teamcomps. low utility, lots of squishies without tank shredding tools or item builds, and champions who cant really just dive, blow up or fight garen too easily.

if people would have picked anivia more often into mid lane against him instead of zed or talon, or they would have picked janna instead of pyke on bot lane, his winrate wouldnt have shot up like that.

right now were in the process of another meta shift where tanks become more relevant. more cc means a harder time for garen to get to priority targets in teamfights.

longer games means, it will become harder to snowball early game advantages into victories before he starts falling off.

there is also the celerity nerf that affected him aswell. its a good chunk of damage less on his abilities. especially his q.

also, his pickrate right now is really high, but it was this high since his skin was released (even higher actually. the release day of his skin, it was 15%).

so there wasnt any increase in pick rate since then, but garen still fell off in winrate.
