What did I do wrong?

So, I played against a Fiora as Mundo in the toplane. I was winning early 1 v 1s. For some reason our adc decided to troll/feed so the fiora got quite fed and was able to buy items etc. Anyway that is not concern I have.

I had ninja tabi boots, thorn mail, sunfire cape, spirit visage and executioners calling and haunting guise for my build

and the fiora had black cleaver, revenous hydra, mortal reminder, B.F. sword and vampiric scepter, + merc threads

ON our last team fight, I absolutely got destroyed and got killed in like 2-3 hits (maybe 4). I was so surprised. What could I have done to win the fight Maybe a different build? Or it is just Mundo that falls of late game?

If I remember correctly, Thornmail is a terrible item against someone like Fiora. thormail is used against champs who are AA heavy (Yi, most ADCs, etc). Someone like Fiora isnt affected by a Thornmail since she can deal true damage, and doesn't rely heavily on her AAs. She also seemed to have a lot of armor pen, so again, a Thornmail wouldn't do much to keep you alive in this situation. Not to mention she applied grievous wounds to you, which hurts Mundo heavily since it makes your health regen moot.

On the team fight you are talking about, was it mostly you dueling Fiora? Or did you end up going against multiple enemies by yourself? Might help give you a better idea on why you died so quickly in the team fight in question.

The first thing you did wrong is not linking us to your game. If you're too new to know how to do that then just assume you did everything wrong.

tabi boots = 12% resistance to autoattacks and 30 armor thorn mail = like 100 armor sunfire cape = 500hp and 50 armor spirit visage = 500hp and 55MR haunting guise = 200 hp

You had 180 armor plus something like 80 base armor, fiora had black cleaver and was ignoring part of your armor while dealing additional true damage.

item 3071 becomes optimal around 130 armor last I checked

And that's assuming fiora is actually what killed you, you probably just got shit on because your MR was low but maybe not. But then you didn't have extreme hp either and this IS lategame it seems.

Fiora had enough armor pen to rip right through your defenses with that build, and her lifesteal would have negated your Thornmail effect. You also might have caught a nasty % damage ultimate or another skill that ignores defenses all together. There are a lot of those out there. Sometimes, there is literally nothing you can do. They just had you outscaled. No worries.
