I’ve seen Elder spawn about 10 times this season.

I don’t think it’s gonna matter

We really need more damage huh riot

Elder is a buff meant to end a game that’s lasted long enough, as it is now it doesn’t always fill that role effectively. I think with the current elder it could work but I think most people don’t actually know how much power the elder gives them and nothing says fight now like a threshold execute.

we hear you loud and clear.

DAMAGE, shields that scale with damage, more movement on a small as hell map, and excutes.

we showed we listen by buffing champions right before a new skin and keeping champions at 52% winrate for months.

dont worry, we are listening!

It's even funnier that it says that "By the time Elder Dragon spawns, the game has dragged on too long". Before the client update when it showed how much time each map takes, SR had 30-40 minutes. Elder spawns at 35, so 35 minutes now is too much according to Riot. When I saw what it did I literally laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair. I actually couldn't believe that they wanted to do that. Ult CDR on fucking cloud drake? Like what the fuck? The most depressing thing in that video was the excitement the devs had when releasing that pile of SHIT.

It honestly might be the Season I'm quitting. I'm literally sitting here for almost 3 fucking seasons waiting for shit to come back to normal and all they can come up with is more ways to piss me off. It's sad how things like these go through.

This reminds me of pre-season 9, when it was evident they were gonna make the same mistakes of Season 8.

This. This is so idiotic that I can only imagine they will do it even if 100% of the players hated it. I loathe this idea. It completely negates the idea of counterplay in the late game. I cannot stress how stupid this is, which is exactly why we will have it.

Im gonna be honest, i really dont like most of these changes, the map thingy is fine imo, its interesting if anything, but the elder dragon and their supposed "removal" of spear of shojin, just to make it a team wide buff with the cloud dragon soul. Now sure, one could argue that the dragon spawns are random and etc etc sometimes it will be impossible to get the cloud soul thingy, but that is the part of the problem as it makes champs like jax depend significantly on dragon rng, as without cloud drags he has no possible way to get shojin, and imo id rather have spear of shojin exist than have to rely on luck whether he will get the passive "for free" or whether he will not get it at all.

Im fine with extra damage (like a mini Coup de Grace), but an execute? No thanks.

MUST MAKE EVERYONE AN ASSASSIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game was a snowball. Now it's a snowball that rolled through a surgical tools convention, an armory, and a nuclear missile bunker.

Pyke Pyke Pyke Pyke Pyke Pyke :D

Light of Madness10/16/2019, 12:42:36 PM3 votes

I understand it is "the buff" to end the game. But it will basically remove any hopes from the team that do not get the dragon. Get the dragon will be easier than destroy the Nexus (the objective of the game). After sometime people will just surrender when the elder is destroyed. I can see a ziggs ult insta killing a full hp adc, 1 GP combo making pentakill. And more and more. If you do not like the AoE of pyke, wait for AoE of others with elder.

I'm not sure how impactful this would actually be due to being attached to elder dragon but it still seems like a stupid idea.

Some Rioter explained it on reddit as a comment:

they take out the burn (damage over time) and put it as "burst." Pretty much doing the same thing only that it's 1)visible to everyone now (no hidden power anymore) 2) easier to balance. Another reason was also that elder dragons are pretty rare in games (people usually go for baron or the game ends before elder)

They can just reduce/add more execute % if thats problematic. Can't be said about the burn.

It makes sense but on paper it just looks insane. Anyway, we will have to see.

Before yall downvote me: This is what a rioter said. Here is the link to the reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/dihsgp/preseason_summoners_rift_changes/f3w6foy?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Can't wait to see all the bugged interactions with the different spells and execute we already have in the game;

ModAttysu The Poro10/17/2019, 5:54:42 PM2 votes

From what I can tell, it happens at about 5-10% HP and is actually a skillshot that can be sidestepped. I think Elder is meant to be the teamfight ending buff like how Baron is the objective ending buff.

Baron is: "We have a lot of giant scary minions and can fuck your towers up."

Elder is: "We win fights and can push into the team more."

DingDongDanger10/16/2019, 10:24:10 PM2 votes

I'm on the fence about the changes... The dragons scare me already as is because as it is now at least in Gold, if you're behind and can't really contest dragons and 3 infernals and 2 mountains spawn and the enemy gets both of them it already can completely screw you and keep you from coming back when they get Elder. If they are that strong and then get a buff that allows EVERYONE to become Pyke well... I don't know how to feel about that.

I'm just finding an issue where teams who are already ahead stay ahead, especially if your team won't even remotely try to help you get dragons :/ you're just going to be 100% screwed now. Like 70% of my games we're spam pinging for help on an important dragon or baron and our team is just running around stealing my jungle camps instead.

Honestly, I like Baron being more important and dragons being less impactful. That is just my personal opinion though because of my experiences. Who knows though, might end up being really fun. Only time will tell I guess.

I was playing an in-house game with a bunch of friends. I was playing leona and was peeling for my ADC who was being aggro'd by an ammumu. I had about 2200 hp. In my death screen it stated "1098 dmg from elder buff" off of ammumu

We auto surrendered. There is no point, the worst thing was it was still anybody's game, both teams were knocking on the door of each others base. If this is what riot wanted why not just make drake an auto win, because tanks have very little chance against this... I'm dreading this seasons climb

Shleelpboy10/16/2019, 5:40:09 PM2 votes

I do agree and disagree. Elder is an objective and an objective that is kind of optional if you're way far ahead of the game, meaning you can clearly defeat the enemy team in a team fight.

I mean the execution is eh, because most champions who have (range) would execute easily, and would make assassins more useless (correct me if I am wrong). I agree with this, because it's a cooler feature, and we needed something for a long time to make the game lively.
