Suggestion to Riot games: buff runes that currently see no play
It is of frustrating conditions that about 60% of runes see absolutely no play whatsoever in competitive play, despite some interesting concepts (such as reduction of death timer). These runes don't see play because, not only do they have low impact relative to other runes, they cost quite a bit of IP to obtain them. More, not only are these runes weak, experimenting players are dis-incentivized in using them due to their sheer cost. For example, +9/5 mana regen for me at level 18 does absolutely nothing for me, useless, unlike something such as +9 AD at level 1. Even at level 18, the +9 AD trumps the +9/5 mana regen at level 18. The weakness of some runes is laughable at times. Buffing these weaker runes and decreasing their costs will incentivize their play, increasing the longevity of the game. The increased malleability of the runes will give a stronger sense of customization to play style in the game, making players more acclimated to investing into the game as well. Overall, it has a high ceiling of improvement, of which there is little down side. This problem has been ignored for far too long; it's an excellent way to make the game more exciting and engaging for all league players, professionals and casuals alike.
