Confused about rank after qualifiers

So, I really don't get this.

I'm Silver 3 going into the wipe. I went 7-3 in qualifiers and got placed in Bronze I.

Losing 3 games and winning 7 was really enough to put me three tiers lower than where I was?

I'm not trying to complain, I'm not really that upset (just a little perhaps). It just seems illogical.

Just be happy you only have to play like 6 games to get out.

they put me in 3. it's gonna take at least 15 games.

To not hit Bronze from Silver, you had to have MMR of Silver 2 at least.
