Not really. AP Yi was infamous for his ability to heal up every few seconds with insane AP ratio, his invulnerability given by his Q and his resets upon kills.
Ekko doesn't have the resets, nor the frequent heal. His bread and butter skill (Q) is easily dodge-able.
Ekko has gapcloser Yi has gapcloser Therefore Ekko and Yi are basically the same
