Every game has a major skill gap between players at the same elo and it is out of control.

This is ruining the game. There are so many people deserve to be higher elo and so many people who deserve to be much lower. Between the smurfs, bought accounts, paid boosters and people who duo with the girl they want to bang it is ridiculous. I know kills don't win games but come on. When some guy with the .5 kda overall is in the game with the guy with the 5 kda it is beyond stupid. The guy who averages 12 deaths a game and 10k damage who basically acts like a bot. Every game feels like this:

1 great player 1 good player 1 okay player 2 mentally challenged people who shouldn't be at this elo

Who has the biggest impact? The two mentally challenged people. They decide the game. The worst players. Not the best. Then it is even more of a dice roll because if one of those mentally challenge people lanes against some sort of hyper carry like Vayne you just lose in the first 10 minutes as they feed 6-8 deaths in lane.

ITbh i think it has to do a lot with autofill and how the game is changing too fast.

Autofill has always existed, even without role queue. Back when we didn't have role queue you were required to learn how to play every role and as a ADC main i would just learn maybe 2 champions in each role just in case but majority of my time would go towards learning marksmen and their matchups. In fact most of the champions i play still today came from that time i was learning more champions to be useful in other roles.

But what's the problem? Every role (specially jungle) changes way too often. One patch your comfort picks are decent then Riot does one of the balance patches and your comfort picks in another role now perform worse in some match ups or have to change their build now to adapt to changes and it's simply to much to keep up for most players (Even high elo players can't keep up with learning new information in their main role and then on every other role) this is why you feel the difference in teammates is too big sometimes. It isn't necessarily their skill level as players, but the how the knowledge they used to rely on isn't relevant anymore. Staying competitive in LoL is hard and the fact that the game changes so much makes it even harder.

I don't even bother to learn the jungle anymore, it changes every month anyways so i just dodge whenever i get it. I can handle myself in mid but i only play one champion there comfortably and in top lane i can play more but then i get destroyed by ranged top laners because i don't have the necessary experience to deal with them. I'm good at support because i play ADC so i understand how supporting and their match ups work.

This has nothing to do with autofill. When I'm ADC I like an autofilled sup, most of the time those autofilled sups play better than any main sup I get on my elo.

btw in your last game, the 0/1/0 yi game

the Morgana has played 46 champions this season the rengar played 39 champs this season the fiddle has played 27 and his most played champion has 11 games total the caitlyn has played 34 different champions, and his most played champion has 19 games total his 2nd most played has 14 games total, and these two champions are Zed, and Lee sin

The biggest root problem with poor matchmaking comes from the fact that people keep swapping between champions, you'll see a guy with 60 kennen games, with a 60% winrate, and suddenly he has 40 other champions played, all sub 50% winrate, you're never going to be able to place him in his actual skill level

the biggest problem with match making? PEOPLE PICK YUUMI ON THE DAY OF FUCKING RELEASE, AS THEIR FIRST FUCKING GAME, IN THE FUCKING RANKED QUEUE, THAT'S MADE FOR FUCKING CLIMBING A FUCKING LADDER, FUCK. WHY IS SHE STILL BEING PLAYED IN RANKED, WITH A SUB 40% WINRATE? WHO KNOWS.. CAUSE FUCK IT

the ladder system does the best it can right now, and it's a really fair system over 100~ games, if you improve, you will climb, (depending on how much you improve, and how much impact you choose to have on the game)

the Solution would be to make it so you need mastery 7/20k points on a champion to play them in ranked.. but then we wouldn't see champs like yuumi until 3 weeks after release in ranked :( sad day. we wouldn't get the joy of being trolled

you can blame the matchmaking, but the real problem is the players fucking it up with their 40+ champions in ranked, and having your top 2 champions be zed and lee sin with 19 games max...

or having your most played champion only have 10 games..

AND UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FLAME OUR TEAM MATES, FOR FIRST TIMING SOMETHING IN RANKED, OR WE'LL GET BANNED, SO WE HAVE TO BOTTLE UP OUR EMOTIONS, UNTIL THE WHOLE COMMUNITY IS JUST FUCKING TOXIC, SOFT INTING HERE, TROLL PICK THERE, LITTLE FLAME HERE, (not enough to get banned) PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, DONE WITH LEAGUE.

I got mastery 7 on yuumi 3 days after her release i got mast 5 than 6 games later i had mastery 7 having pulled 5 s ratings in the 6 games i did this before they buffed her i already have 65k exp points on her like 60 games and a 56% WR she is the most broken support in the game in my opinion she has a couple hard counters that really fuck her up, Alistar being the worst i think.

zac is hands down the most broken support https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=mystlcflow https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=sea+slug+menace

maybe old tahm kench because of his ally swallow

but, the real point that I'm trying to make is that people are first timing champs in ranked, and yuumi is just the most recent event that EVERYBODY can relate to because of the 29% winrate on release, and current 40% winrate

people picked yuumi support in RANKED on the first day of release, having never played the champ on pbe, you have people literally only playing ranked, trying to main yuumi, like Ranked is the mode you go to perfect a champion, not to practice it.

and stuff like this just fucks everybody, fucks match making, fucks people who actually want to take ranked seriously and climb, I personally haven't dealt with having a yuumi on my team so I don't actually personally care about yuumi, since I main support and get it every game, I just brought it up as the prime example

The real 'problem' as you describe it is actually just a reality of being midway ranked in almost any game. Inconsistency.

At my best, I'm probably as good as plat 1/diamond 4 players... the reason I'm not ranked plat 1 or d4 is that at my worst I play like a low silver player. And that's just the reality of most average players... they have wide variance. If you look at my match history, I have two lux support games back to back: 1 I went 8/2/15, the next 1/9/6. Then after that I had a more average 9/6/23. Last night I had a game where it took me like 20 minutes to get my manaflow band online because I just couldn't hit ANYTHING... but then I also have games sometimes where I hard carry, even as a support.

Those are the realities of being a mediocre player at this game - it's not like you go 5/5/5 every game, it's that some games you pop off, and others you look AWFUL. That 'great player' you mention might be the same person who looks awful on the enemy team next game.

exactly that, and so many other reasons: matchup ur champ experince enemy champ exp bad day/ good day early lead with gank for him or you

a lane can very easly go out of controll once its fucked it up

a g1 player could lose to a b1 player if alot of the points are bad for the gold player and good for the bronze player,... and then most people would asume he does not deserve gold (yet he does)

As someone who just hat 2 games, back to back, where he was first the worst, then the best player on the team (even op.gg analysis agrees), there are a lot more factors that can make the difference between how you perform each game. Champion experience and familiarity, matchups, tilt, getting camped etc. And it's always been that way. That is why sometimes, when you check past matches of the guy who did the worst this game, you see he carried in others.

Edit: Also add role familiarity, and teamcomp synergy.

THIS. The OP would've probably flamed you in the former game, and praised you in the latter. It's a screwed up logic: if somebody is playing really bad, it could be because of a bad matchup, too many ganks, an autofill etc. There's so much passive-aggressiveness "in the air" ("mentally challenged player")...

Yeah, I'll admit, sometimes I can get upset and be somewhat sarcastic to someone doing bad, but I NEVER upgrade to flaming (no punishment, ever, on two 6 year old accounts), and i always try to also give them advice like "just play safer" or "wait for me". The most frustrated I ever get is "dude can you PLEASE stop (dying)". I get it, when you're playing well and a teammate is feeding, you're mad that someone is ruining a game you've played well in. But unless they are blatantly inting or not even punting the slightest effort in, positive encouragement and trying to calm everyone down is always better than getting into a big argument. I can't believe how many times I've seen people arguing, or trying to surrender, even when we were WINNING, just because they got mad by one bad play or death.

I totally agree with you. Wanna laugh? I played a game last night with two friends (therefore ending up with two strangers). Well, the game starts, and after a few minutes our midlaner, a Yasuo, dies. In that moment the jungler probably has a brainwave, as he writes this: "stop feeding". Seriously? At his FIRST death? I don't think to much of its related to MMR but rather its on Riots adjustments to MMR. So its likely related to Class Intervals. Riots modifications that I assume would be at fault are Positional MM and Duoing.

This is ruining the game. There are so many people deserve to be higher elo

I'm not buying this, just type into youtube (unranked to masters series) they're always coming out, go watch IwillDominate, last month this guy went from unranked to grandmasters in a week, and 2 weeks ago he went from unranked in Eu to challenger.

If someone has a diamond account, and another account that's hard stuck gold/plat, then they got lucky on their diamond account. not the other way around, they don't deserve diamond on their gold account.

I'll agree with the deserve to be much lower, since all you need is a win every 5 games assuming you're in the 4th division, to not be kicked out, but their mmr still goes down, and yeah it'd be great if Lp decay was more harsh, so that someone who got boosted to diamond 5 doesn't just play 1 game every month to keep themselves in diamond

Sõna5 votes

He could be one of the reason why the same rank but different skill level player looks so bad. Smurfing causes a lot of problems. If one game with 9 silver/gold players while one is challanger/diamond smurf, what would it happen if it happens every 2-3 games. Riot policy allowed this.

Poske2 votes
  1. I Will Dominate is an ex Pro with high amount of hours spent on a game. Would be embarrassing if he wasn't chall.
  2. League lost large amount of player base chall isn't what it used to be
  3. Its April. EVERYONE good at the game is studying FK I peeked challenger last year (top 50) and year before that (top 150) around that time
  4. Nothing you said correlates to OP concern

DuoQ should only exist in Flex. If Original Poster is in any way insinuating that KDA should be one of the measures for matchmaking he is beyond stupid.

Ok so as an Ex Chall.

Here are the reasons why League matchmaking is trash

  1. DuoQ smurf abusers 70% of an issue
  2. Bought accounts 10% of an issue
  3. People don't care anymore because league is trash 25% of an issue
  4. Fking pathetic balance 5% of an issue (Example Kassadin / Kaisa players are currently 4-5 divisions higher then they should be)

Is there a solution? DUOQ should only exist in FlexQ

Is it perfect solution? No people ll just sell their smurfs as they have no purpose in playing on lower mmr accounts. Some People ll create smurf accounts anyway (Mostly r%%%%%s)

removing duo queue and making it a real solo queue will be the first solve. Then allowing players to opt in and out of autofill for quicker or better queue times would also be much better

Eleshakai2 votes

I mean, I'm a support player, so people opting out of autofill would reduce my queue times to zero... but I don't necessarily want allies complaining about their self-imposed 20 minute queue times because everyone disabled auto-fill and queue times went up by a factor of 20.

Sir Saltarin1 votes

The ones that want it now that are mosly salty Midlaners would be the ones that would cry about long queue times the first since they would be by far the ones that would have to wait the most to play a game since they main the most popular role

Eleshakai1 votes

ya, midlane queue times would probably be through the roof with no autofill...

When you have no role pick, everyone gets autofill every game...

I really think theres much more involving in the matchmaking formula than just MMR, idk. A proplayer from NA or EU idk which said on twitter that the matchmaking forces people to 50% and this is unhealthy for people who is actually climbing and being consistent, because it forces people on winning streaks and then they get a higher elo/league even if they don't deserve and then they get a losing streak (that i don't know how matchmaking does it, winning streak = everyone knows how to play, losing streak = literally afks lul) with other 1-3 randoms that should be on a losing streak.

Im not saying that someone or me should be on a higher elo, if you belong to it you will be in that elo, but this makes the onesided games making the game extremely onesided and by consequence, frustrating, time consuming and often boring, but addicting i think.

Smurfs, boosters, bought accounts and people who want to bang other people are just part of it.

From my experience, every elo is the same thing until you get to grandmasters/masters games. Ive only had a few of those games where im the odd Diamond 3 player playing with masters/gms, but in those games you rarely see people playing stupid, you see players actually wanting to win, and you can almost always use your advantage of winning lane winning game in that elo.

I have several other accounts as you can tell from my username. Every single one of those accounts that I have ranked up from unranked, has been the same situation on each account. Low elo you get teams where everyone on your team and the enemy team has 20-40% overall win rates, meaning whichever moron feeds the most on either team means theyre going to win. Of course if nobody feeds, and its a stalemate game where I can carry, we win 100% of the time. Which is why I rank up, but very slowly.

Its the same thing in gold elo, plat elo, diamond elo. You have players in diamond 3 mmr games that are plat 4 with 23% wr, not even joking. The games a joke.
