HOW manny Reworks Ryze need to Balance?
I dont know what you are doing Rito, but im sure the best way is to switch the Balancing Team.

He shouldnt harrass you by farming minions, AND he doesnt deserve a ms bonus on top of point and click snare. Maybe a mage can farm from a distance avoid the spell flux bullshit but he doesnt have to lane vs a mage. Maybe a mage can land cc and 1 shot Ryze
but Kha'zix, an assasin for example cant do anything to Ryze. Aside from Darius if he gets some mr quickly enough(not feeding Ryze obviously or getting no farm) I honestly don't know what melee champion can actually punish Ryze, and that involves Ryze gettting pulled. Playing melee vs Ryze is a horrible trial being bullied by a champion that scales or just a snoozefest in a better case.
You can't engage because he can snare you combo, chunk you and get away, and you can't farm minions without tanking his spell flux.
just make his bind a skill-shot instead of a point and click, done, counterplay to combos outside of QSS
He'll never be balanceable as long as they keep holding on to this "Iconic" point and click root
Despite what people are saying the point and click root isn't the thing that makes Ryze hard to balance. It is his concept. His concept has always been a mage that uses a ton of lower damage, short range spells, on a low CD (sort of a fighter/mage aka battle mage). Because he is using more spells he needs to build more mana then the average Mage. Since this means he has less gold/slots to build AP, he is given a passive to give him free AP based on mana. But this is problematic as mana is much more gold efficient than AP. This also leads to problems because mana has always been a way to bottleneck damage output of mages. Once Ryze gets a couple of items he no longer is limited by mana at all.
Since he is a short range mage he needs to be tankier than a normal mage so that makes very hard for a lot of mages to deal with. Also since he is short range you have to give him some sort of mobility, but you don't want him very mobile because of how tanky he becomes and his damage he would be able to run up to squishies at will. So you have to make him really slow and then give him a mobility steroid on a longer CD, as his ult has always been.
So since he is slow, tanky, and depends on sustained damage output from low CD spells he HAS to have a reliable root, because if he doesn't hit his root he is going to do nothing and get kited to hell. So because of his concept his abilities are sort of locked in (passive AP bonus/ high probability root/ low CD spells/ ult with a mobility steroid). You put that together and you get a tanky champ that ults onto a squishy holds him down and beats him to death. And that make Ryze really hard to balance.
