I had a game with Shaco support on my side, I was ADC. This wasn’t first time I saa Shaco in that role.

Whoever started playing this style I have a question. What you do in lane. I mean, Shaco that was supporting me wasn’t doing anything usefull, he just poke little with his q, but arnt there much better poke supports.

Maybe that was bad (Shaco) player U was playing with or Shaco support isnt good thing at all. So am I missing somthing?

No, you're right. He does fuck all as a support.

There's a lot of kill pressure with specific ADCs at specific points in time. Basically all of the time in soloQ he's just going to be hard-carried by his ADC.

I would argue that Shaco is more of a "control support" ... if there really is such a thing.

His boxes are very good for zoning and essentially warding, and the fact that they are invisible means that they can essentially be anywhere and the enemy has to respect that.

Similarly, the fact that he can be invisible, or that he could be a clone, also gives the enemy a reason to question what's really going on at any given moment.

He does have potential for damage, and he is actually very good at roaming.

I will add that I am not good at playing Shaco in general, and I am definitely not good at playing him as a support, but I can see why he would be played as a support. Also, there are definitely better supports, but someone that is good at playing him, or just enjoys playing him, might pick him if they get autofilled and prefer him over more meta supports.

I play shaco supp/top regularly, and yeah... in lane he cant usually do much beyond poking.

He is mainly used as a counter-engage champion. A good shaco can predict where enemies will be moving to and can hard carry a fight that way. 3-4 boxes can completely shut down a team.

In soloQ it really isnt great tho, since most palyers dont know how to play with shaco boxes.

My friend that mains Shaco supp typically provides good CC and vision in lane with his boxes. He's slippery because of his clone and invisibility, and has the means to set up a good play if the enemy steps into one of his traps. Definitely a different playstyle than someone like Thresh or Nautilus or Leona, and probably not as viable at higher levels of play, but I enjoy it

You aren't missing anything, shaco support is a 100% troll pick. He has 0 team utility and has no synergy in lane, meaning a competent enemy botlane will shit all over you. If you somehow make it to late game, shaco can't do anything to stop the enemy assassin from killing you. Meanwhile the enemy adc will be able to survive long enough against your assassin to deal good damage thanks to their support being actually able to protect.

he was a bad shaco. i'm mediocre with shaco at best and i picked him support for a few games and absolutely destroyed the enemy laners p much solo and carried my adc each game x3 hes p fun, if you properly use his kit you can easily pickup multiple kills
