Solo Queue Matchmaking inconsistency
Hello guys, i hope summoner's rift is treating you well.
I wanted to bring into discussion the solo queue matchmaking inconsistency skill level. It is not a post out of frustration or venting, nor something because i've recently fallen into a ranking/deranking loop, but it's because this is happening for more than 2 seasons.
Let me put this straight, right now playing ranked feels like a russian roulette, it's either your team or theirs that will totally be owned with no posibility of coming back or fix the damages other lanes have done to the game, i am rarely experiencing games where teams are balanced, on a tight score and a fair share of map control.
I myself am in a continuous loop of promoting and demoting from platinum 4 to platinum 3, and a support player i must pray the other lanes have a slight clue about what they're doing. In most of the cases it is either mid, top or the jungle having a hard time to keep it up with the bottom lane. Am i missing something? Is the botlane safer than any other one? From my personal experience it's not like that. I have tried all the roles mid, top and jungle in ranked, in each of them i had positive score, a good objective control. But there was a huge minus, if leave the support role (which i main), it is usually filled by an "alpha mentality carry" that's playing support for 5% of his time, and won't do a better job than i do. If i leave the jungle, the role is going to be filled by someone chasing kills and having minimal interest into objectives... and so on.
I really cannot think of a system to make my own skill level match my team mates, since rating cannot control the general behaviour or the spectrum of human emotions, but as far as i've seen, riot is working on a new system for the next season which looks promising.
But untill then i'm hardstuck plat with 50% chance to be placed in the horribly losing team.
Another small snag would be the premades, that only communicate between themselves and not care about the larger picture. On this topic i cannot complain that much since i rarely encounter premades, but when i do, oh boy it's usually (yas, malph, zed, riven, kha, rengar) combos and nothing that would even remotely bring benefits to the team UNLESS they are exceptional players.
Anyone else feels the same?
