Ranked bans and a general rant

For a while now, League has been a very fun and wondrous place filled with magic and adventure, then out of the dark came the new tribunal system which is so counter intuitive it hurts. First off, players do understand there's a mute button right? For some reason this has been completely ignored by the general community and like.. Why? If you don't like what somebody says, mute them and it all stops. Chat banning somebody while sure it doesn't make them able to harass players, also takes away communication between that player and the rest of his team. You can't waste what you're saying on timing summoner spells, buffs, or asking general questions like who needs a gank or telling people your jungle route. When I'm chat banned I feel completely mute and some things that I would like to say that would greatly help my team I am unable to say. Furthermore chat banning somebody isn't really going to stop them from being toxic. Negative reinforcement never works to solve human behavior and in this case it won't work either. I think the whole chat ban could be avoided if people were more aware that there is a button that makes it so you no longer have to hear anything that person says for the rest of eternity. Isn't that already a very viable fix? Also ranked bans are beyond stupid. How is making a player unable to play ranked (the largest attraction for league of legends, to me it was like a prize for hitting level 30) going to help fix that person's behavior? "Man I was planning on verbally abusing that guy, but since I was unable to play ranked and had to grind through vast numbers of normal draft wins, I think I'm gonna keep my mouth shut this time." In what world would this ever happen, if anything it only agonizes the banned player into being even more annoyed and harassing more people, on top of the fact that since normal draft is the least played gamemode, every toxic player is now stuck there with eachother which is clearly not a good idea. Ranked shouldn't be a privilege, and instead, once you hit level 30 where you have enough experience to actually play the game, ranked should be open forever. After spending hours and hours getting to level 30 to play in the ranked queue why would it be a good idea to then restrict access to that queue because somebody didn't follow the "Summoner's Code." I am a more toxic player, but that's just who I am and no amount of chat or ranked bans are going to fix that, and I think riot should stop thinking anything will ever change the toxicity problem except people preventing it themselves by muting those that are toxic to them. That's my rant on the state of the tribunal tell me your thoughts on it..

Another problem I've come across in league of legends is item builds. It seems like there are so many armor items in the game (item 3068 item 3143 item 3110 item 3075 item 3157 item 3025 item 3056 item 3512 item 3047 ) and then for some reason the only actual MR items that I see that are commonly used are an occasional abyssal scepter, banshee's veil, and spirit visage. Riot what's going on here please explain.

found that funny as well that people forget they have a mute button yet take the time to fill out day long reports for an automated system to do it xD but i mean most of the community is bronze/silver so that'll tell ya how smart they are. Also chat bans only hinder timing buffs if plays from korea/china can communicate through pings so can you (^:

i also think riot goes too far with all of this sensitivity non sense they are way too hyper sensitive compared to any other game. I love the competitive trash talk and all that its what makes you try harder get more into the game but with this game they think it makes people play worse or cripple? For one people shouldnt care what a random says, for two its called psychology its used in everything if saying words gets me an advantage than thats YOUR fault that you are not living up to your expectations and get angry. Maybe why na is so non competitive, nobody cares about winning or being better or the competition they care about getting high elo with no effort and being so sensitive you have to treat them like they are good just because they dont want to hear they are bad. Dear riot there will always be good players and bad players, if the bad players cant accept the realization that they are bad and its a mental breakdown problem for them where they get their feelings hurt maybe they shouldnt play COMPETITIVE games maybe hmm?

If Hitler wanted to kill jews but didn't, he'd still be a crazy and awful person.

It's not about people not hearing negativity, it's about people thinking it's ok to be toxic.

Riot has statistics on this stuff. People who are toxic are more likely to afk or feed.

Non of your OP addresses the fact that Riot has said over 50% of people banned by the tribunal reformed and were never banned again.

Pings help sure, but not when you don't see the buff actually being taken, which is when you need to time it in chat, and same with summoner spells.. I agree it isn't ok to be toxic, but honestly I'm 99% sure half of those statistics aren't actually founded on any reliable information. And your commend doesn't seem to address how a large majority of the people banned didn't do anything wrong so it's pretty obvious why they never were banned again.

why is it always bronzes, silvers and low golds who make threads trying to justify toxicity?
