LP gain getting smaller?

I'm on a bit of a winning streak, but even so, my LP gain is getting smaller the more I win. And I'm not even doing poorly in my games.

First win I noticed this decline = 10/0 160 CS (S- rank) +25 LP Second Win (next game) = 18/4 (S+ rank) 325 CS +23 LP Third Win (next game) = 5/5 (B rank) 166 CS +19 LP

I'm S5. Whassup with the LP drop?

It depends on the rating of your enemies compared to the rating of your team. If you get weak enemies you gain less LP. Especially if you play at night you can get enemies who are much stronger or weaker and gain/lose different amount of LP. LP gain has absolutely nothing to do with your score or CS or anything else, the only thing that matters is the match making value.

The MMR system is convoluted and messed up. Its in part why they are scrapping it for S9.

The mmr goes up when you win games, but lp actually represents larger jumps.

A 50 gain in lp is a much larger leap in mmr. So if you keep winning games, unless your mmr is sky-high, your lp per game will go down. MMR is a lot harder to push upward than lp.

The average match MMR.

First game = 1193 Second game = 1217 Third game = 1156

Your LP gain will be based on your own MMR in relation to the match's average MMR rating. If your LP is much higher than the average match MMR, then you will gain more LP. If your LP is lower than the average MMR then you will gain less LP.

Three game win streak isn't really enough to raise your MMR enough to consistently get higher LP gains since each match will have slight alterations in the average MMR of each match.
