Lore for the League.

I didn't know what to title this. [sg-lulu]

I absolutely love what Riot is doing in regards to lore. Every time a new piece of lore comes out, comic, champion, etc., I read it. It something that makes me feel really dedicated to a game (knowing canon concepts and the like). One thing, however, I feel is lacking, especially with the new lore... is the League of Legends lore. I want to know why Ashe is in the League of Legends instead of with her people. I want to know who runs the League. I want to know the purpose of it. Is it the leaders of Runeterra or Valoran? Why is Lissandra here instead of controlling the Iceborn nations from behind the curtains? Why is Kalista here instead of being sort of a contract-assassin (loosely)? I also want too see how they would've come to it. Is it just a big city or stadium? I just want MORE. I'd love to see how it came to be, and what the purpose of participating in it is. I hope that's released in more detail soon. I know bits and pieces, but during the time that it was mentioned in all the lore of champions, I was newer to the game. Now the lore is kind of "who they are," instead "why they're here." Does that mean the old lore is now non-canonical?

GIVE ME STORY, RITO. [sg-janna]

Mate. The reason why none of the new stories reference the League is because the League doesn’t exist. Or at least not like it once did.

The Institute of War lead by Summoners is no more. Some Rioters have made passing reference that Summoner’s Rift is still technically a thing, and things called Summoners exist somewhere but they’re not players. That’s it. There’s no story why Ashe is in the League because Ashe is unequivocally not in the League. She’s fighting a civil war with a lunatic on a boar and an ancient evil witch.

Maybe my ideas are just wishful thinking and would be too complicated to add into the story, and maybe the mystery of why they are here are what makes it interesting, but it feels like something is missing. [sg-soraka]
