HOW DO YOU GET S ON SUPPORTS GOD DAMN IT

Ok, so you main support? you purposefully try not to take kills. You want to help your team. You want them to get fed and get strong. Your score reflects that. so when you end a 27 kill game, with 1/0/17 , you'd think that's a perfect Janna support game. only so much a champ can do, you know? I did the math my score says i literally participated in 2/3 kills MAP WIDE

Why did i not get an S? this keeps happening to me, i perform admirably in my ELO, yet rarely get S ranking Im bronze, and my standard as support is 50% kill participation with max 1 death per 20 mins, to me this is what i consider OK But everytime i go and do a perfect run ( above 50% KP and no deaths) never get more then A+ . What the hell. what kind of standard are supports held to? If im doing something wrong, what is it? Why am i not reaching what is considered S in my ELO? Explain RITO PLZitem 3070 item 3070 item 3070

Riot purposefully hid the details on how exactly the rating system works so people won't abuse it.

But the general details are that you're compared to everyone else that played the same champion in the same roll: so if you want to get an S rating on Janna, you need to be in the top ~5% of Janna players that went in the support position.

As it's both pretty easy to not die as Janna and pretty easy to get a lot of assists doing close to nothing with how her kit works, something like an 0/0/18 score is going to mean a very different thing with support Janna than with support Talon when compared to other players.

Also: from playing with friends that are grabbing an S rank it would seem Riot's system also heavily weights how well you do compared to your rival lane, which the posted screenshots in this thread heavily indicate as well. Going 0/0/18 isn't that great when the enemy support went 0/0/18 after all: you're not really moving the game in any particular direction in that case.

Cus you ward like shit. 1 ward per minute of the games duration is your goal if you want S+

I never got an S without dropping pink wards.

Try going 5/0/7 with a jungler having perfect objective control and assisting other lanes (was a surrender game for the enemy) and getting an a-... Supports I'm lucky to get an s- these days even when I go flawless and clear wards

It's not all about warding, but I will say that buying pinks and destroying enemy wards seems to heavily influence the score in my opinion.

Your KDA isn't such a big deal. That often tells you nothing about how a player did. Damage done, damage absorbed, damage healed, wards/pinks placed, kill credit, etc. all matter much more. I know people that purposely play too safely in an attempt to get an S rating and never do get that because their contribution to the team winning wasn't that high because they never took risks.

Also I just want to say that Janna is probably one of the most played supports, especially in higher ELO. It could be pretty difficult to get an S rating on a support like that.
