Why don't people play rengar top more?
I've played rengar in the jungle, but I think his kit is too amazing to be wasted on those boring jungle monsters. I prefer my kitty in the top lane. As far as design goes, Rengar is the coolest champ in the game! He has a passive that allows him to jump out of bushes, and he builds "ferocity" that makes each of his abilities ENHANCED. I play rengar top and many matchups are just too easy for him. I've found that most of the players in my division (silver) don't understand exactly how he works and I get free kills for this reason. For example, they are low on health and they think they are safe because they are out of my jump range... but then I Q onto a minion and used my empowered bola to stun them for an easy finisher. I know it's not just my division either, because i've seen Ryan Choi play rengar top and he also makes amazing plays with him. There's just too much fun to be had with rengar in the top lane and I don't know why he's not there more often!
Like I said many matchups are easy for rengar if you know what you're doing, but a few of them are seemingly impossible.
IRELIA- If you jump on her and lose the trade she will spam laugh, and if you win the trade she will stun you and tell you to go fuck yourself. If she builds damage she will out-damage you, and if she builds tank you can't kill her. You have to get 4+ kills on this bitch pre-6 to have a chance late game. Farm enemy mid laner for best results.
DARIUS- Dear lordy, Darius must be a fucking psychopath to be able to cut open kittens so easily. If you try to deal your damages he will pull you back in for a delightful evening in uncle touchy's magic puzzle basement, if you know what i'm saying.
FIORA- She has more damages and if you hop on her she will block all of your autos with her parry. She will follow you back into the bushes and rape you. And then she will cut up your organs and sell them on the black market with her ult, which you can't do anything about.
ANY TANK- Can you get fed enough to build armor pen faster than they can build armor? If yes then you win. If no...... roam to boat lane for free kills and top kek lelelelelel.
For all these hard matchups there is still a solution. Rengar has an amazing heal on his empowered W that will keep you alive in even the toughest lanes. Just build doran's blades and you'll do great out there my friends. If it takes more than .5 sec to kill the adc then you are doing something wrong.... don't build tank.
