So I have been playing some Azir lately and I find him really fun and unique, all tho I think he needs a Q radius buff, not something huge but I feel like he needs a slight buff on the radius and if you feel like he doesnt, you can always increase the mana cost in exchange for the radius buff
Please don't do Mana cost compensation nerfs, they feel aweful. His q is fine, that's not what's holding him back at all.
You know why they gutted him in the first place right?Same reason as 
,beacouse in a organized team like in god dam LCS he was a monster,while in solo q(in low elo he was not balanced he was a garbage fire and as we all know 42% of all players are in silver since they dont have the time to play competitive so they just want casual fun) he aws balanced but riot balances around the cash cow known as pro play and we all get fcked,but hey at least soft core cuck fetishist can have fun watching someone else play a free game that they could be playing at that very moment.
Situations like azir and rek happened beacouse rito is trying to have they'r cake and fck it too(a game balanced around a teams made form the best that have access to voice chat in witch normal play teams are made from rando's that sometimes have in them players a whole league apart and no voice com's),the only solution i can think off is creating a separate version for pro play only.

I think he's pretty good. The thing about Azir is that he takes a LOT of practice to play, but once you have some experience with him your team might as well just afk at base because your going to 1v5 no questions asked.
