Gargoyle stoneplate on Vayne as dumb as it sounds, but not for the reasons you think.

The entire basis of this post is concerning the synergies between Gargoyle's Stoneplate and Vayne's kit.

  • Incoming damage reduction

On activation and expiration of the Gargoyle's Stoneplate active, the percentage health appears to be conserved, from my testing. As a result I will look at the damage done from activation to expiry of the active.

  1. Bonus health 40% bonus health translates roughly to a 29% damage reduction on termination or a .714 damage multiplier for your opponent
  2. Item Stats The Armor and Magic Resistances given will also reduce damage on purchase by the same amount at 0 Armor ( i.e. 29% reduction or .714 multiplier) but for a more realistic 40 armor a 44% damage reduction or .556 multiplier are the result ------> therefore the total damage reduction on completion of the active is 49% for 0 armor and 60% for 40 armor.
  • The effect of true damage on the output damage if 10% of Vayne's damage is true damage then the 60% reduction in damage reduces to 54% if 20% the damage reduction is 48%

Thus on termination the effective result is that Vayne's damage output to input ratio is 25% higher While drastically reducing her sensitivity to burst. This is the worst case scenario. Given that the Stoneplate's proximity requirement is substantially larger than vaynes auto attack range, she should be able to gain more health, and as a result reduce her effective damage even further.

you do know that the damage reduction doesn't apply to true damage right?
