The F1-5 keys are great for checking on teammates in a split second but they don't work if the camera's locked. They should override the camera lock instead of forcing a controversial gameplay setting that most players aren't comfortable with. This feature is really important for lower elo players to learn as well to teach map and lane awareness, its a shame its useless to most of them.
I wouldn't say 'most' players aren't comfortable with unlocked camera. Everyone i've ever met plays without locked camera, and you should really learn to if you want to play well.
My argument against this is that players should learn to play without the screen being locked. Playing without it locked really allows for more vision and maneuverability. Its a decent way to learn the game, but after the first few weeks you should try to play without the screen being locked. It'll be weird at first but once you get used to it you will play so much better.
