Why isn't # of ranked games taken into account with matchmaking?

I've been noticing for months that when I go into ranked games, the opposing team may often have many games in experience over mine. For example, today I had a ranked game where the other team had 1500 total ranked wins while my team had a mere 500. Is this not a huge imbalance? mmr and elo are good ways to make matches but I think wins need to be taken into account. They represent the amount of time a team has spent grinding in ranked and learning how to close games in their mmr bracket.

It is, it's just not weighed very heavily. If you get to X MMR in 50 games, you're still X MMR just as much as the guy that got there or is still there after 500 games. There are people that are in Diamond with less games than me while I'm Gold, but that doesn't make me think I should be in Diamond or he should be in Gold.

You can play 2,000 games, but if your Win-Rate is only 45%, then you don't really deserve to be out of Bronze.

(Not saying anyone is in bronze, just an example)

Games played doesn't tell you anything about someones skill. Someone could have 1000 games and be bronze 5 and another could have 100 and be plat. Experience does make someone more likely to be better, but it doesn't always or even usually mean that. What number of games really does is increase the confidence level that someones rank is accurate.
