Hi all!

I'm new to the game and I'd like some tips on improving. Currently I'm stuck and Silver 1 and I can't seem to progress further. Any pointers from veteran players would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Nice~. Those are good evasive champions who can come in and shred other champs. The best thing to do is to focus on champs that you can use your attacks and abilities on, and see how you can prioritize in team fights and skirmishes. Don’t be afraid with using your spells both in a safe and risky sense.

I’m not much of a pro myself (sitting in Gold II), but I can emphasize the most important elements of winning games:

  • Keeping up/getting ahead in CS
  • Itemizing against your opponent (anti-cc against catchers, maw against AP comp, damage-heavy vs squishy comp, etc)
  • Knowing when to pick a fight or take an objective

A lot of mistakes made in lower elo come from a lack of proper prioritization, which bites at even players that are super fed. I recall watching a ranked replay where the enemy team nearly killed the nexus, but suicided at fountain for fun and ended up losing. This is an extreme example, but always try to keep your team on the right track with occasional pings to target objectives and the like, which sometimes might be enemy players. This also includes communicating concisely about how your allies should play against the enemy comp if it looks tricky.

Another way to improve is to do a little research; find high-elo Youtubers with elo climbing series’, such as JaySea or foggedftw2 (these two are top lane-focused, but they still provide very useful info for general play). Learn from their actions and decisions, and attempt to replicate it in your gameplay.

I’m sure this isn’t everything, but I hope you’ll find this info to be useful!

Thanks for the tips! I'm trying to main Kai'Sa but I have trouble depending on who my support is.

Try duo with a friend who mains supp, preferably a champ that you and your chosen champ plays well with.

If you guys have never played together before, try play a couple of normal games and pretend that you are playing a ranked game. It’s just to practice communication and to see how both of you guys play. And I recommended normal games so you guys can practice without any risks to your lp and rank.
