How to compensate Ornn so he doesn't end up gutted with his nerf (A level 7 Ornn)

As a level 7 Ornn, he is going to be needing some sort of compensation if the current nerf goes through.

Ornn has little to no sustain while in lane and could use some sort of sustain.

W: Bellows Breath

Shield strength increased from 12% to 16% all ranks of Ornn's maximum health

New Effect Ornn now heals 2/4/6/8/10% of his missing health against enemy champions afflicted with brittle

Sad to see the nerf go through. The small amount of skill expression in his kit has been removed.

Ornn doesn't have sustain because of his passive.

If he had sustain, wouldn't it be next to impossible to force him out of lane since he doesn't need to back to build stats?

If Ornn had innate sustain he would almost never be forced out of lane thanks to his passive...

It is mainly for ranged poke and to help him in 1v1s.

Ornn isn't losing any stats at all. Why would he need sustain when he has been fine without it this whole time. His w still gets a shield and he still will win 1v1s against melee.
