Fix for mage's CDR problem

For mages that don't use there is currently no path to 40% CDR that won't cripple your stats.

All that's needed is a new AP item with 10% CDR that is strictly damage and not as niche as Nashor's so it can be used by most mages. The easiest thing is to just remake Luden's Echo by nerfing the AP and movement speed to add 10% cdr. Then if you want to invest in hitting the cap you have the option of going: or > > to get there. I get riot wants to people to have to invest in multiple items to get to the cap on mages, fine, but as right now it's not even viable for most. This would fix it.

Oooooor Riot could make a new CDR item.

Something like item 3113 item 3136 item 3108 .

Having an alternative to the burny-mask would be nice.

Well, I guess RIOT counts on mages having a blue buff. And since a lot of junlers take it themselves, while almost no one uses scaling CDR, well, you know...

which is why i run CDR blues for the late game.

otherwise its outright better to go for a raw damage (i dont need resets, i just need to land my skill shots) viktor type champion.

I agree on adding CDR to an item, but I don't think it should be Ludens. It cemented its place as the premier burst item, so maybe 10% cdr would be better on something else, maybe a new mana regen item?

The thing about CDR items is that you're saying "I want to cast ALL the spells. A LOT." That's why regen and CDR tend to go hand in hand. I think the problem is that another regen item could get out of hand- full cdr/ regen builds are troubling. Thoughts?

I agree with this. There needs to be more generic ap items that grant CDR other than morello. I guess you could go lucidity too, but you would lose out on spell pen. The other ap items that give cdr are lich which you can only build on certain champions, athene's which at this point is way outclassed by morello, and then what else is there? Banner of command? Ardent Censor? Who would even consider building those on someone who isn't hiemer. Same problem with WOTA, only certain champions can benefit from it.

i agree that we need a new cdr item fo mages but luden is an ap assassin item i like the 10% ms and 100 ap on my lb and ahri

They shouldn't have touched Lucidity Boots. I get they gave it summoner spell CDR so they had to nerf spell CDR, but I don't think many people care about that, especially when there's already a summoner spell CDR boot enchantment and a mastery giving 15% summoner CDR.
