Im just a silver Pleb, but, lets just think about this for a second, As a top lane main, hes got a lot of things atleast I would look for in a top laner, but hes rarely if even ever seen in the top lane, are there any decent players out there that can help me figure out if it would be atleast Viable, Probably not top tier, but Viable, I tried googling it, but I couldnt find anything recent enough to still have some relevance today
It can be viable. But you have to understand Kass is going to be extremely weak and susceptible to being ganked pre 6. I've played for 7 years, and Kass top has been a thing a few times.
The main thing is farming enough to stay competitive. Then building correctly. And preferably getting a good match up.
So Kassadins bread and butter is his Q. You almost want to use this on cooldown. Be it to cs something you couldn't touch otherwise. Or to harass.
As far as building for top lane. You almost have to play Tank Kassadin. RoA first, followed by other tank items. Kass even building mainly tank, will still be able to get to the back line and cause chaos. Just realize that you're going to be the main target. Also you have to realize at silver your team mates are going to be hard to count on.
As far as a good matchup goes, preferably you should try to get matched against a heavy ap enemy team of some sort. To make the most of your q.
So final thoughts would be that Kass CAN be viable, but there is almost always a better choice.
